Chapter 2
I looked out of the stuffy, old, classroom window.
The day had passed by so quickly, but not because I enjoyed. I didn't actually enjoy it.
I may have made friends, but everyone had ignored me. I was constantly pushed into walls, and down corridors, I didn't want to have to come here every week!
At Lunch, people were still ignoring me, or pushing me.
I took my lunch tray, and looked around the Cafeteria. People stared at me, some people looking me up and down. It was like the morning all over again.
I didn't see my friends, and no-one was in any position to accept me into their groups.
I walked down corridors, trying to find somewhere to sit.
I saw people giving me funny looks, but I bet they didn't know how it felt.
I suddenly felt tears prick in my eyes, and I just dropped the tray. I kicked it behind the bin, and ran down the corridor. I tried to find a girls bathroom.
Around the corner, I could see a sign. I ran up to the door and pushed it open. There were 2 girls standing opposite the mirror, and they both spun to face me.
" Yes?".
I felt my arms shake.
" I... just need the loo" I replied.
The first girl laughed at me. Her cold eyes pierced into me, and I couldn't look away.
She held her glare for a few more seconds, and then dropped her eyes to the floor.
" What happened to you?".
" Sorry?"
" You... never mind. Anyway, Karen.."
She faced her back to me, and continued to talk to the girl next to her. I squeezed past her, and into one of the cubicles.
That was so strange, I thought weirdly. Nothing had happened to me...
Oh.
I suddenly felt nervous.
Only one thing bad enough to damage all confidence, had happened when I was younger.
A fire had broken out in my house, and I was left inside, as my parents had abandoned me. I was left on the top floor of our flat, and it took a while before the Firefighters could rescue me. I had passed out on the floor, and they had only spotted me when they'd checked every room.
I opened the cubicle.
The girl stood right in front of me.
" Hi, I'm Janice. This is my friend,Karen. Don't underestimate me, OK? We rule this school, if you get me. Anyway, this is like a VIP pass, so, we have decided you can hang out with us for a few days. So, what you say?".
I smiled as a yes, and Janice grabbed my arm, and took me out of the Bathroom.
" I can tell you everything about this school. Where to sit, who not to talk too, where to go, I'll be your personal tour guide. Yeah?".
I nodded, and Karen looked me up and down.
" First, we better get you new clothes" she spoke, and she flicked her hair.
" Yeah, good idea. Let's go to the Mall after school. Will 'yah mom allow you?".
I knew my mom would have disagreed straight away.
But I had to have one day off, right?
After all, it was my first day of school, right?
