Six Impossible Things

by KnightTeen

Some days I like to believe,

in six impossible things,

and most of them before breakfast.

Today, I believed that

Hugh Jackman was no longer Wolverine,

(What were they thinking casting him anyway?)

Taylor Swift would stop writing love songs,

(When is that girl gonna learn?)

and they never remade Spiderman.

(Seriously, people?)

Then I believed that,

My Chemical Romance would get back together,

(Why, cruel world, why?)

Elvis, Heath, and Cory were alive,

(What is it with people and drugs?)

and Sofia Vergara would lose the accent.

(Honestly, why can't the woman understand English?)

Six impossible things,

a very good practice.

I wonder, what could be next?

First off a very good practice to do. Also completely agree with you with the " My chemical romance" the world is a very dark place now. I love your idea and everything about this I think you did an incredible idea and I Love how you put your own opinions in ( parentheses) it really brings everything together even better. I really enjoyed how its all impossible things and I do have to agree with the taylor swift she's a love singer to the extremes :) Overall really well one and keep writing

Hahaha! First off, I think this is a great practice. I think I'm going to start doing this on a daily basis now. Can I also say that if Heath were still alive my own life would have a little more meaning... However, I also think that if Sofia Vergara were to suddenly lose her accent the world would be just a little darker.
Anyway, I love the simplicity of this piece. I love that you literally just took a bunch of thoughts that you had and made a hilarious poem. Sometimes the most seemingly random notions make for the best and most relatable works.
Honestly, aside from the certain differences in opinion (Hugh Jackman is amazing with or without claws haha!) I really enjoyed this. If I were you, I'd start a series of these. I'd really like to see what other things you'd come up with. Keep it up!

Ash Strangelove here, and I already went through the whole thing about how I review here. How I am the Ash Williams of reviews. So, I decided to go BOOM on this. This is groovy. I love groovyness (if that's a word). This does remind me of a poem I made, and I do love your examples. I'm going to show you my opinions on each thing
Hugh Jackman was no longer Wolverine: I actually like him, but they freaking signed him on for 7 more movies, so I agree with you
Taylor Swift stopped writing love songs:We all want that
And they never remade Spiderman:I am a fan of all 4, my least favorite is 3. Emo spidey!
MCR never broke up:We all want that
Elvis,Heath and Cory were still alive:I only agree on two of those, but I do like this.
And Sofia Vergara would lose the accent: My absolute favorite :))
I like this poem for the examples. Not that steriod like strong, but strong
The Vergara one was groovy
A little bit choppy, never got the whole () thingy
Overall, pretty good. You do have a pretty good knack for making humorous poems
Ash gives you....
7.3/10
Good job
Keep Writing
May the presence of the Green Lantern be with you!

Hey HST. I'm here to deliver a Secret Santa review you never received! Sorry for the delay, Santa's Elf is a busy bee.

Some days I like to believe,
six impossible things,

Choppy, in my opinion. Flow is choppy. I feel it needs a transition word, maybe "in"? Try that out, play with this. It could use some work.

The parentheses. Major nitpick of mind. I felt they were distracting and kind of leading the verse off topic. You would speak of something, say the Sofia Vergara line, and your question in the parentheses opens a new topic to think about, this drawing my attention away from the subject at hand. It's not something to should fix in this poem, but maybe think about it in your future works. And I agree, she has a thick accent. -.-

Other than that, nice work! I like the Alice in Wonderland reference, and how you took your own spin on the six impossible things.

Elvis, Heath, and Cory were alive,

R.I.P, babies. </3

Anyways, nice poem. Keep on writing!

~ Iggy.

Thanks, Iggy!

I had no idea I never got my secret Santa.

Wow, that was funny. I thought some things were left out of it and that might have caused it to not deliver as well as it should have. Nevertheless, it was still a funny poem and thoughtful poem. I would like to wonder what Sofia Vergara would sound like without her accent too. Maybe she'd sound like all those weird celebrity news reporters in Hollywood. Funny poem. :)

Thanks.

Hello!

I loved this poem! It was very interesting and funny! I love the six impossible things that you picked! They are certainly impossible :). I love how you use parentheses after each impossible thing. It makes seen more fun I guess. I could not pinpoint any things for you to fix! It was simply amazing!

Happy writing,
Cgirl

Thanks for the feedback!

Greetings! I am a squire of the Great Green Room, happy to greet you for this review.

I'd like to start with- I know it's regarded as nitpicky, but- the punctuation needs to be addressed. There's a great many lines where there's a comma and there shouldn't be. I know it's a poem and so you have more freedom, but it's best to either have no punctuation or keep to the rules since no one notices punctuation when it's normal and you don't want it distracting from your poems.

The parentheses are fine in my opinion though; I love the parentheses.

It's a very funky, creative premises for a poem. Very original; I've never read a poem like this before which is making it a bit difficult to review.

The last stanza feels a bit chunky to me, in not a good way.

My FAVORITE part was (What is up with people and drugs?) I might just make it what's up because it feels a bit unnatural to say what is up, but that's the funniest part in my opinion. Hilarious and somehow unexpected.

Keep writing. Hope this review helped!
-Squire tgirly

It did help, and thanks for reviewing. The last lines did feel chunky to me, that's going to be edited.

Sorry about the extra space between the second and third stanzas. That's the only way it let me have a space at all.
