When I want to tell you how I feel,
You're afraid to listen.
When I want you to hold my hand,
You ball your fist instead.
When I want to tell you how amazing you are,
You list all of the reasons why you aren't.
I Hate it.
And I Hate you.
I Hate you because I Love you.

this is really good I understand and can relate to this poem I get feelings like that a lot

When I went into this I read that you were having an emotional outlet I rolled my eyes and thought 'yay more angst(!)'
Goodness I didn't expect to enjoy this. I like how misleading, in a way, your poem is. Hate really is a strong word.
I really feel for both sides of this poem. The poet (or you in this case I'm sure) just wants their loved one to know how special they are.
I feel for the loved one too. They seem to not understand how much the poet loves them. Speaking as a person who cannot take a compliment I think I feel mostly for the loved one. Perhaps they feel pressured that they don't deserve you in a sense and thus don't take compliments. Or maybe I'm reading into it too much.
All in all I really liked this poem. Mostly the last stanza:
