Q: What is the bravest thing you've done?

A: Oh, Mister teacher, you expect so little.

So little, you can't handle the truth.

The answer I give isn't brave

for I cowered pressing enter.

I can sing a silly song about love

in front of familiar strangers every day.

But on any given day,

I strive to live

that "silly love song."

For love is not silly, it is needed for living.

I've been stripped of love, it was stolen

by a thief in the merciless night.

The menacing boy took it,

and crushed it,

let it sprinkle down,

like tears from the sky.

There was no original love piece.

It all had its use for family,

for friends,

for lovers,

for myself.

I couldn't start to piece it back together

with the cheap glue of

"You'll get over it."

So, Mister teacher, if you're looking for the truth, the bravest thing I've done is Learn to Love Again.

Does that answer your question?

This is coffee spilling from a mug to write you a review.

Hi fire, more excelent poetry I see.

First impression. The reference that school has uncovered this feeling, this mind-map of a time that was hard for you or the speaker if the speaker is not you, is really amazing.

I love how when they answer they feel scared and they think that being scared means they aren't brave. I find that truly ironic because my definition of bravery isn't fearlessness, it is acting in spite of fear, which is exactly what they are doing.

Love songs are often looked down on as silly, but they can mean a lot to people and the speaker not only knows that but they experience it. They like the love song because they want it's meaning and the intimacy it so carelessly portrays.

A unique portrayal of heart break with rain imagery. <3333333333 Powerful.

And then the powerful ending or how the consolances for scraping your knee and being betrayed by a loved one should be different, but usually they aren't and the answer to mister teachers question.

This was well thought out and you did great fire. <33

Keep writing, much love coffee.

And this is coffee pouring back into the cup.

Hey there! Plume here, with a review!

Wow. This poem really packed a heavy punch. The progress of the poem before the final reveal worked really well, and your subject matter also hits so deeply. I think heartbreak and then learning to love after that is something a lot of people have gone through, and I love how in this poem, you acknowledged it as brave. I think overall, this was a very moving poem, and you should be proud.

One thing you did remarkably well was conveying your tone throughout the poem. It was very derisive and bitter at some parts, but the reader can't help but feel for the speaker, because there's a certain sadness there as well. I think in the end it was especially evident and the tone came through the strongest. The almost condescension used when talking to the teacher was a perfect touch of derision, but the whole idea that the bravest thing the speaker's ever done is "learn to love again" carries with it that sadness I mentioned earlier. I think the fact that this was staged as a Q and A also made it interesting and made your tone come out even more. Nice work!!

Specifics

It all had it's use for family

Tiny grammar thing, and one that trips me up to: you actually use "its" fr possessive, whereas "it's" is the contraction between "it" and "is." I know it's weird. I know it doesn't make sense. But alas! English!

I couldn't start to piece it back together

with the cheap glue of

"You'll get over it."

Oh man. This line was gorgeous. I absolutely adored it, and it just solidified that aching bitterness all throughout the poem. Really nice work here.

Overall: nice work!! I think this was a truly heartbreaking poem and something that a lot of people can probably relate to. Broken hearts are never fun, and you've perfectly encapsulated the frustration that comes with them. I hope to read more of your poetry on here soon! Until next time!!

Wow this a literally amazing I was blown away by the ending. I really wasn't expecting it because you did a great job at not giving away the meaning and point of this poem before you wanted to which was the very end. The end wasn't the only good part though, the entire poem was good. With nice symbolism and figurative language to make it a classic poem. Going into this poem with no premeditated thought about it, is the best way you can experience reading this. I really like this because I still haven't learned to love again, I fear relationships and I hope some day I can love again and not push the people I get close to away.
