Fat Cats

In Pre-2014

Fork into meatballs,
choke on your plate
full of emptiness.
Your laugh is plague cough.
You own nothing but your facade
crafted so neatly,
to fool your own self.
All we have for you is bitter pity.
We the students of this
twisted framework,
hoping to break out someday,
we await the right time like spies.
Your luxury is a bubble world
protected by metal and armour,
inside palaces of glass and concrete.
Remember, these things break.

I can't review this, but I had to leave a comment saying it was nice. :)

I really appreciate the reviews writingmyheartout and JayShay! I know I don't explain things in my poems too much, so you don't need to be sorry about anything. I know I'm getting at a lot of things in this one. But I think it's perfect because writing it made me feel better (does poetry work in the same way for you?).

I dislike 'explaining' my poems word by word. But I'd say I'm talking about things like authority, rebellion, and fake standards of life here.

Thanks for your amazing reviews..

I'm confused, not that I didn't like it because I did. It's just that it seems to be going a lot of different places that maybe aren't as connected as you're trying to make them be. Or maybe I'm just not getting it, either way I liked all the very descriptive, slightly cryptic words you used.

I have mixed feelings about this piece of work. Forstarters I like your wording. Though you could use work on the line containing emptiness. There are better words that would work well. Nextly I do not understand what you are trying to say here. I think I get the bubble world because there are some people who believe they live in their own perfect world. I am not sure if that is what you are saying. I am sorry for any hurt feelings. Keep working on this and you will get it. Every work could use work so please do not take offense to this.
