Circus Darts

Flower, flower on the wall

Nailed in vain, thorns like cat’s claws

Whats your plea, what’s your excuse?

Better yet, what’s your use?

~

Here’s my hat, and here’s my bow

I’m the ring master it’s time you know

I’m grasping on and I’m finally letting go

May the show go on as it rains black snow

~

I’ve always, put on what I can

Why can’t you be proud again?

“Get control, of your circus, Circus Freak”

They’re coming after you, blossom, as we speak

Send your friend, ignore my story

I’m grabbing my darts, you’ll be sorry

Nailed so pretty, I know you miss me

But I wont miss, with these Circus Darts before me

~

Flower, flower on the wall

Nailed in vain, thorns like cat’s claws

Whats your plea, what’s your excuse?

Better yet, what’s your use?

(Nailed for vengeance, neither looks good for you)

Leave you there, or pin you down?

You’ll be sorry 'cause I miss my clowns

In this circus you're my volunteer

You’re no longer jester of the year

Around and around, you’re body goes

Too much pink has stained my  rose

Which dart will miss, which do you think will hit?

You hurt me too much, you piece of-

~

I’ve got my staff, and I’ve got my rings

I’ve got the memories of when you sing

Yeah, you’re voice is pretty, never heard anything like it

Every time I think I hear it my body throws a fit

~

you did good scaring me for life

Scarred me good, handed a knife

Told me i scare you, that I love too hard

I run the circus, not the joke, pick your card. Broken petals?

Spin the god damn wall  “And there I was, trying too hard”

But aren’t you the one who let it fall apart?

~

Is that your card? My turn…

~

Flower, flower on the wall

Nailed in vain, thorns like cat’s claws

Whats your plea, what’s your excuse?

Better yet, what’s your use?

(Nailed for vengeance, neither looks good for you)

Leave you there, or pin you down?

You’ll be sorry because I miss my clowns

In this circus you’ll be my volunteer

Which dart will miss, which do you think will hit?

Welcome to the circus, welcome to the show

Where being normal’s boring, and insane is practical

Bein' ordinary will isolate, just so you know

And look where it got you now, you’re all pinned down

You had the guts to come to the broken Marionette Show

It’s too bad, so bad, because now you’re all alone

Why? Because I’m not with you, get a grip girl

You did this to yourself, and I’m coming for blood

So let me get my Circus Darts and let me have my fun….

Hello there, Akira! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

Shalt we commence with the horrid S’more?

Top Graham Cracker - The ringmaster is nailing down the person who dared to come to her circus with her circus darts, with her own well-crafted weapons. For why did that person ever stroll to her circus in the first place?

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I think that you meant to say “your” for the body, but if not, then please ignore this.

Chocolate Bar - I can see why this is one of your favorites. I like how you described the person dying to the ringmaster’s tricks, for they were not prepared for what was to come, and everyone eventually gets what they deserve. I also like how it almost goes off to cursing but not quite, the effect is strong!

Closing Graham Cracker - If this isn’t the final piece, then I’m excited for more! But if it is, then I think that it is an appropriate ending to the circus story, an ending that tells all that the ringmaster won’t stop for a better life, and she’ll take anyone down for it.

I wish you an amazing day/night! ^v^

you'd be surprised to hear the final song ^^ I'm glad you liked it though! and now that I think about it, you're right. this would make a lovely ending. but I never said the jester ends up dying, did I? oh no, we still have a whole nother can of worms to get through! hope you'll like it :3

I would like to thank you very much, though. you've soldiered through these stories since I wrote my first one. I'm greatful!

Thanks! I love all of your songs.

Hey, coming in with a review!
Although I’ve been reading your songs for a while, this one was the first one that really compelled me to review it. As a songwriter myself (albeit one who forgets her lines an hour after she writes them and has never posted one online) I loved the elements of this one.
The chorus is really one of my favorites. I love the assonance between “wall” and “claws”.
The imagery is also amazing, and I wouldn’t expect any less from your writing. It’s interesting and paints a picture in my head. If there are any cliches, I didn’t notice them!
Each of the verses seems intertwined with each other yet so different, and I love that! Overall, I love this song! It’s one of my favorites in this collection.
Have a good day, and happy RevMo!
<3, Meenal (theromanticchemist)

thanks! I'm glad you liked both it and my writing ^^
