Circus Gasoline

Warm memories, they whisper in my mind

“Just one glance, look what you left behind”

I won’t look back, each flower marking like a burn

They are so beautiful, so cruel, I guess I’ll never learn

~

So sick of being told to paint over my scars

They’re my war paint, from being scratched at the heart

Bein’ told that it doesn’t matter what you did to me

Bein’ told that it’s my fault that we weren’t meant to be

You know, without care, a cherry blossom will wither and die

But here you are, with enough ignorance to be askin’ why

~

No one asks what happened to that one Circus Freak

But right now shes out for vengence as we speak

And she’s grabbing that can of Circus Gasoline

~

Dont you dare take me back, into the past

Of when I burnt my circus down at last

I made one, one who accepts my scars

Circus Jester I know who you are!

Take off that mask, stop hiding your voice with your bells

Behind you’re ugly and deranged, you put me through hell

You’re insane and you’re twisted, twisted just like me

You’re a shadow of memory, wont go away from Circus Gasoline

~

The laughter, it rings in my ears

“You don’t matter, neither does your tears”

“All that matters, is how I feel”

I gave everything to you, and now you’re trying to kneel

~

I put my feelings in a bottle, it didnt matter to you

I kept stuffing them inside, but my anger grew

You tell me that we were never together

Then you act like I had a chance to make it forever

You cut me off, and you tried to move on

BUT I KNOW THAT YOU MISS ME NOW THAT I’M GONE!!!

~

Smoke and flames, they paint a pretty picture of anger

The bottle burst, dont try to save her

She likes to be deranged, she’s better off insane

She’s safe inside her new circus, please leave her to drown

The jester cut her strings, so she burn the old circus to the ground

~

No one asks what happened to that one Circus Freak

But right now shes out for vengence as we speak

And she’s grabbing that can of Circus Gasoline

~

Dont you dare take me back, into the past

Of when I burnt my circus down at last

You’re a shadow of memory, wont go away from Circus Gasoline

I don’t know if the memories were a nightmare or a dream

So screw it all and burn it with Circus Gasoline

Hello Hello I hope you dont mind me popping in with a quick review. I will apologize that I haven't yet cought up with the other songs in this series. However, I hope my thoughts could brighten your day nonetheless. With that being said think all of the preface is out of the way. Let's get into it, shall we?

Overall I found this a very interesting read even without having full context. Honestly, I get a bit of a harely quin vibe here and I enjoy it. The themes of past trauma people pleasing and revenge are done greatly as well as engaging. It adds to the flower and puppet imagery while moving the story on.

As for the flower symbolism, I think you did well to pick a cheery blossom. They have many fitting meanings with the obvious being love but I feel renewal and life and death stand out the most considering the themes in play. It's a subtle but well-done nod.

Now, moving on to feedback, I promise to keep this light. I am not a professional, nor do you have to use anything I say. You are the author, after all!

The biggest thing I have to say is I would rephrase a single line most slightly.

You’re a shadow of memory, wont go away from Circus Gasoline

To me, this feels a little odd and I would change it ever so slightly, It could also mirror the last line like this.

You’re a shadow of memory, won't go away with Circus Gasoline

Regardless I found this a very interesting read and cant wait to see what's next. Happy RevMo by the way. As always keep writing and remember to drink water!

Hello there, Akira! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

Shalt we commence with the horrid S’more?

Top Graham Cracker - The narrator knows that the jester is nothing but a monster in her life, and she can see him underneath his tricks. She’s going to stop at nothing for what she wants, and if that means burning down another circus, then so be it.

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - There are some errors here that you addressed, so I won’t talk about them.

Chocolate Bar - The story keeps getting ever the more bloody. I love how you described the main character wanting to burn down the circus with “Circus Gasoline” as though it were better for to watch the flames graze the sky than to have to be reminded of that damned jester one more time. The jester’s voice being covered by bells gives off a supernatural feel to it, as though the jester were something else…or maybe it just symbolizes the jester’s deceit. Either way, it’s a pretty metaphor!

Closing Graham Cracker - She’s spiraling down further into darkness, and any mention of the jester will push her further down. She’s changed so much from the first song, as she knows to not let love change her path. But what path will she go down?

I wish you a mesmerizing day/night! ^v^

thanks! I feel that my songs are getting less and less circus-like. it might be a while before I post again. I might remake them.

I think that the circus theme is still present in the songs. It%u2019s got a gothic circus feel to it.

Take all the time you need! ^v^

from one circus fan to another, the ones you're seeing are from months ago. my recent ones, not so much...
this is one of my older drafts, its not out yet, but its about a month after my last one in the first show time series. read it and tell me what you think?
Circus Dance

crap you cant see it can you

I%u2019ll check it out!

So I just read %u201CCircus Dance%u201D and I think that it%u2019s good so far. If you want to edit it go ahead, because you know these characters more than I do.

But I personally liked it as is.
