Dear Loneliness,
You are my only companion nowadays.
They say it’s only a phase but it never passes,
They all say I’m a wretch, the mirrors and broken glasses.
All I wish is that you never leave me.
Without you I’ll be left with only distressing memories and nothing else,
I fell even after trying to catch myself.
Dear Hope,
I bet it’s fun to disappoint me.
You blind me in such a way that I fail to see your deceptive plans,
Maybe you exist only in wonderland.
All I wish is that you let me see the truth.
I don’t want to be soothed by unrealistic fantasies,
Leave me alone, please.
Dear Love,
The greatest player of them all.
You like to watch me fall even though I thought you were true,
I really have no words for you.
All I wish is that you show your true face.
Before another ignorant with no trace gets entrapped,
In your golden web, forever wrapped.

Hi there!
First off I just want to say wow... this is one of the best poems I've read on here! you my friend, are indeed a poet.
I love how you wrote a letter to each of the emotions that left you hurt, you instantly capture the reader with what they can somewhat relate with. Your choice of wording is simple and effective, I also like how you've personified each of the emotions in the letters you're writing to them, which creates a connection. I also like the title a lot.
"Dear Hope,
I bet it’s fun to disappoint me.
You blind me in such a way that I fail to see your deceptive plans,
Maybe you exist only in wonderland.
All I wish is that you let me see the truth.

This is actually my favorite stanza, especially the idea of it only existing in wonderland, that was genius.
"Dear Love,

I really have no words for you.
All I wish is that you show your true face.
Before another ignorant with no trace gets entrapped,

I personally feel as if the letter to love wasn't as emotionally capturing as hope and loneliness for some reason, perhaps adding more imagery?
"Before another ignorant with no trace gets entrapped,"
Here by ignorant what do you mean, another ignorant person? If so that wasn't too clear.
Overall an awesome piece of work, please do continue writing I look forward to reading more of your masterpieces!

Great poem.
I like the first paragraph the best
"Dear Loneliness,

They say it’s only a phase but it never passes,
They all say I’m a wretch, the mirrors and broken glasses.
All I wish is that you never leave me.
Without you I’ll be left with only distressing memories and nothing else,
I fell even after trying to catch myself."
I just love the emotion that you pack into it. You grab my attention instantly.
I also really like the title. "Letters to the Merciless". That is the perfect title for this piece.
First of all welcome to YWS! Secondly, thank you for your kind words.
It means a lot to a writer when his/her work is appreciated.

Hi runawaylove!

I really love your username, the title of the poem, and the poem itself! I admit, I am not a poet myself. That's only because I don't understand a lot of poetry. The only poetry I really understand is haiku. Terrible, I know.
However, I understood this poem one-hundred percent! And for that, I thank you immensely. You opened my eyes to a whole new world of literature. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two.
Anyway... you might be asking: 'If this girl doesn't understand poetry much, how could she possibly review my work?'
Well, I should be asking myself that question, also. I don't have anything to say about the structure or anything, since I don't know much about poetry. I just wanted to mention something.
In the fourth line (I'm sorry, I forget what it's called exactly!), you used the word 'wretch'. Yes, it is a word, but I know a lot of people wouldn't know that. You could change it to wretched or wreck, as AmeliaDay suggests below. Just so other readers wouldn't think anything of it. It just kind of stands out a little when its read, at least for me.
Don't change it though if you like it being there. Who knows, maybe you (and possibly others too) like that word being there. That's all I have to say! Maybe we can talk a little about poetry? You're really good at writing it, and I would love if you could teach me to do the same. It's fine if you don't want to though. Keep writing!
Yours till the chocolate chips,
InfiniteSnowfall
'Wretch' is a word and it means an unfortunate or unhappy person. Maybe it stands out but I'll like to keep it.
Writing poems are really simple. (for me
) It has always been since my childhood as all my emotions flow together and make a rhyme. I'll be glad to help you!
THIS. I love this! When I read the title, I thought (stupidly) that you were writing to actual people. haha, I was pleasantly surprised. I do have a few questions?
'They all say I'm a wretch' I don't know that 'wretch' is a word. Maybe I'm stupid, but I'd use 'wretched' or 'wreck'. Also with that line, 'the mirrors and broken glasses' (which I love, by the way) do you mean 'glasses' or 'glass' because if you are talking about a mirror, then I'd say 'glass' not 'glasses'. I also love the line 'soothed by unrealistic fantasies' and 'in your golden web, forever wrapped'. I completely love every bit of this poem.
Gosh, I don't even know what to say, This is great. Please, please, please, keep writing! Tell me when you write more!!!

Right about the 'glasses' thing. I agree with you that it would be better if I wrote 'glass' but 'glasses' goes perfectly with the rhyme scheme so I just did not have the heart to replace it. Poets can change certain things, right?
Anyways, I'm glad that you liked this
Thank you!
