Time will tell all these things that I have done.
Watered down or swollen, the feet will tell—
Along blurry trees and the open road unknown,
My roadtrip blues playing the bass to them too,
And Lovesong strumming softly across my fingers.
Orange groves and cattle breezes,
A surprise, you call me in the middle of the night
No, I cannot wait to come home, though I am leaving it.
In every river, marsh, and hidden valley
I wonder of the secrets that creep among the lichens,
bark, and footprints.
And these secrets are known by all
Who care to see the stars visible in daylight.
I am going where this highway pleases,
Everywhere, I will go, as the wandering soul I am is distant—
Deep, deep blue and white showering mist.
I know my destination is home and if there’s anywhere to belong
It’s where your soul is shown clear and the streets are alive
Under the sun.

I am here to write another review and I am going by stanzas.
First:
"'Time will tell all these things that I have done.
Watered down or swollen, the feet will tell—
Along blurry trees and the open road unknown,
My road trip blues playing the bass to them too,
And Love song strumming softly across my fingers."'
This for me was a really good part of the poem and I really like the way you said that the open road trip was unknown to people and I would say that is right.
Second:
"'Orange groves and cattle breezes,
A surprise, you call me in the middle of the night
No, I cannot wait to come home, though I am leaving it."'
This I think is the part of the poem that needs to be in there but really doesn't need to be there but other wise really good.
Third:
"'In every river, marsh, and hidden valley
I wonder of the secrets that creep among the lichens,
bark, and footprints.
And these secrets are known by all
Who care to see the stars visible in daylight."'
This was a really good part of the poem and I really think that it was put together with this one stanza.
Finally:
"'I am going where this highway pleases,
Everywhere, I will go, as the wandering soul I am is distant—
Deep, deep blue and white showering mist.
I know my destination is home and if there’s anywhere to belong
It’s where your soul is shown clear and the streets are alive
Under the sun."'
I know that I put these things together but I really think that they would go together really well.
Keep writing and I hope to see you in the future.
Thank you for your review. Much appreciated!
I loved your poem and the subject of it. The poem had a very calm feeling to it, very 'sit back and take everything in'. The only problem I had with your poem is the last stanza. The line "Under the sun." is a rather jarring end to a great flow. I think you would do just as well without it because the first three lines above it are beautiful. Anyways, sorry this was such a short review but I just really loved your poem especially the line "watered down or swollen, the feet will tell"

Thanks for the feedback!
Ye dern daffodil! I didn't know you write poetry! I was listening to a cool woman in a white hat gravitating serenely out the car window, and it turned out to be you! You was born a rolling stone, i see it! The Son was glowing on your brim!
;D Ah, a road trip muse it was!
Hi there! DeepRoses here for a review! Just a little precaution: I haven't written a review in a while so I may be a bit rusty, but I will do my best to share my personal opinions on it.
First off, the imagery is absolutely beautiful. I think you did a fantastic job creating images in my mind and making clear the emotions written. The title intrigued me to read it, as I think it fits well with the poem. Now for the small critiquing I would personally change, although it doesn't need too much.
I will first start off with the little things and then discuss the big details.
- The capitalization starts in each line, even when it is not a beginning of a sentence. Of course this is just a minor detail i noticed, it can always be just your style!
- In the fourth line, it is supposed to be road trip, two separate words. Yet it goes either way.
- In the last stanza, in the first line, perhaps substituting the second "deep" for a more fitting word. like:
Those are the little details I have come up with, now for the larger details that I think will make the poem better. I can't talk in specifics, so I might be very broad and perhaps vague.
The flow of the poem is... well... it's okay. It isn't bad but it isn't great. Sadly that is about as much as I can say, I apologize for my vague-ness.
All in all, good poem! It wasn't too lengthy but said enough in its length. The wording is beautiful and it made me very interested in it. The small details are minor but at my personal preference. The flow of the poem could be improved, it was a bit confusing when reading, making me read it a few times before understanding it. Perhaps making things a bit more clear would help the reader/reviewer.
Good job and keep writing! Hope my
crappyreview helps in some way. Bye!Thank you!
