Cracks Within Blame

the battles on my chest

weigh far more than the budget deficit

in gold. I try appeasing the clouds

for likeness between us – say

they don’t understand

because they’re human.

but who am I now, am I higher

than their cliché cloud 9s?

wait momentarily I command my pride,

‘your foot’s in tangles and briers,’ God,

shake the dust off this clay.

so the Bald Eagle damnation’s afoot,

the half-staff flag’s feeling aloof

from the Jinping shop

it was stitched and graced in.

I apologize, I’d like to spit on the all-

American stripes,

but my tonsils’ dry as Death Valley,
gagging silence

for the living water I’m missing –

sins as plain as daylight death hypocrisy.

it's clear I'm missing the mirror shard

in my own eyes.

read the poetry aloud now, I will,

because

‘do unto others…’

but spoken word taken as treachery

is the best non-seller there is

breathing in this

unsettling air.

~

all right. I am ahead of myself now.

I came to confess of a blind crest,

the manmade honor I’m wearing – but

there’s an invisible noose

on my life that I’m trying so desperately

to loose.

then the unjust call dispatched

on my line of battle, I figured I could fight if I

dreamt up true ‘peace’.

but we’re as hopeless and boisterous as

elephant campaigns.

it’s nearing November, maybe the sun will

stay still, maybe Joshua will resurrect,

just maybe it’ll dawn, surely, it’ll come.

the clouds are singing a rain song

in my daydream confessions

“hope’s never gonna stream

from motive of pretentious leave.”

I’m certainly hoping

the Words are true.

Surely, there’s no doubting

the faithful fate fire

& the Faithful One.

storms always on my mind

clashing between red, white,

and blue me.

but hope is an bursting sprout,

a fountain within cracks

waiting within the trenches

of self-denial.

You are a very good writer and you need

To keep going with what you do and that you

Need to let me know if you are ever thinking

About writing a new poem.

Now to work you are a very good writer and all

But u am not saying this to be mean but I think you

Need to write your poems longer and have more

Vocabulary word to make your poems better an better

Every time you write them.

Your poem reminded me of a Shakespearean ballad .... very intense ... Your theme appeals highly to me . Your way of presentation is great as well . Apt verses of just the right length made sure that I read your poem till the end . Maybe you could consider splitting your poem into distinct paragraphs ... It really works ..
Cheers !!

There is hopeful symbolism in the fact that flags do not wave in a vacuum.
