I'm On My Own Now

In Songs

I'm on my own for the first time.
I'm going places and I'm feeling just fine.
I'm writing my own songs and singing 'em too.
I'm not feeling the weight of my wings,
I'm flying fast away, right above you.

I'm stolling on the clouds,
I'm tap-dancing with the rain.
I leap past the yellow orchards,
Of Sandy, mellow, cherrie trees.

CHORUS

I loved you,
and you loved another.
I missed you,
And you missed another.
I called you,
But you never came.
So now I'm gone.
And now you feel ashamed?

END CHORUS

Now that you're off my back,
I'm gonna lie down and relax,
Since I'm starting my own band!
I'll need all the sleep that I can have.(which is none)

My breakfast's at noon.
and my paper's due quite soon.
I'm sitting down for supper,
And I'm sloshing my brains,
Breaking my pencils writing hearts,
All in my letter for you I cannot send.

CHORUS

I'm swimming away.
I'm never coming back.
I'm gonna keep on going.
No holding back your tears
I will be there for you in time.

CHORUS

I liked your song, but the theme wasn't...expanded on. It seemed like you were stuck.

Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regret, for I am far surer of what is kind than I am of what is true.
