This poem includes the Bible verses 1 Corinthians 19-20. They are in quotes. While they are not my own words, everything not quoted is. This is a freestyle poem so the standard rules of rhyming and line length do not apply. All capitalization is a conscious choice, so please consider the merit of it rather than the correctness. Please enjoy!

For anyone who would find it useful, here is the text version of the poem <33
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit..."
Spoiler
i stare in the mirror,
tracing the lines of where he leaned against me
every moment makes my skin burn
if i am a temple
i am one that's been robbed of its gold
and my artwork is stained with graffiti
there is no honor here
"...who is in you, whom you have received from God?"
the holy spirit wasn't there then
in the way i bite my tongue until i taste blood
the way i fold in on myself
like a temple made of cards and not
marble or gold or something holy
i am insubstantial
there is no honor here
"You are not your own; you were bought at a price."
i pick myself apart
and ship each piece to the highest bidder
a slice to comfort
a sliver to shoulder his burdens
my altar bears gorgeous fruit
but my priestesses are all starving
there is no honor here
"Therefore honor God with your bodies."
i stare in the mirror
and i can feel every stolen valuable
the acts of blasphemy committed against me
if i am a temple
then i have nothing left to give
but God just smiles
and tells me to give more
