Cowgirls don't cry,
Those words stick in my head.
Cowgirls don't lie,
Those words are outlined in red.
Cowgirls reach for the sky,
No matter what anyone else will say.
Cowgirls fly high,
No matter what gets in their way.
Don't mess with a Cowgirl,
She'll make you wish you weren't born.
Don't cheat a Cowgirl,
Cause in quarters you'll be torn.
Cowgirls are sweet if treated right,
Treat them wrong and you'll find yourself centered in their sights.
Cowgirls are fun if treated right,
Treat them like dirt and they'll take flight.
But not before, they bite.
Dear Cowboys,
Treat your Cowgirl like your Mama taught,
And maybe you'll find what you have sought.
love and kindness will come your way,
This much I have to say.
Just remember to treat your Cowgirl like your Mama said,
And maybe they will spare your head.
~Selina

I like this a lot. Really I do. I have a tshirt that says, Cowgirl up, lol.

Treat them like dirt and they will take flight.
Perhaps instead you can 'and they'll take flight' instead. I really like the rhyming,it gives this poem a fun and lyrical feel that I enjoy. Perhaps instead of Treat ya Cowgirls right, you can do Keep Yer Cowgirls Right since ya doesn't have the seem feel and affect as ya does. This reminds me of Maddie and Tae's song, Girl in a country song, that one verse, "Aww no, Conway and George Strait never did it this way. Aww no, we ain't no cliche that's no way, to treat a lady."~ this poem reminds me of that song. All in all I really liked this one. Very good.
OMGOSH! Two days ago my friend told me about Maddie and Tae and I cannot stop listening to them! I wrote this one before I heard of them though. GEORGE STRAIT IS MY FAVORITE!
moral of the story: be polite
Exactly xD Don't mess with a Cowgirl lol
don't mess with anyone, unless you are good friends with them
True xD
Yeessh, don't mess with the cowgirls. Bad things will happen. I love this. <3
Thanks Therese! Cowgirls rock
Heyy.
and just a typo in this line, "love and kindness with come your way," I think you meant, "love and kindness will come your way."
WOAH. Haha I just loved this stuff. I mean, the title itself got me interested
Otherwise, it was great. I liked the cowgirls concept. Yay to the composition, good job.
Keep writing and stay blessed.
xoxo

Oh that's cool
Everyone my age that I meet are older than me xD ALWAYS
Hello. I love this poem. Very nice. Although here is some advice.
don't REPEAT cowgirl to much. I know that's sorta the whole point of poems, but if you repeat it to much, it gets boring.
Great job in rimming! Its wonderful I think. This is an awesome poem. WEll done, keep up the good work.
HOwd you get the idea of a cowgirl poem? I love it!
Don't stop your awesome work!
Good luck and awesome work!

Thanks! How did I get the idea? I am a farm girl to the core and wanted to write something about my kind of girl. =)
OHhh nice!
Hello Tuesday here for a review. i like to begin that this poem has end rhymes which could give it a off-beat to when someone reads it. I enjoyed the little part where you added the letter part and the end made me laugh a little, since most cowgirls (or woman in general) in a fight would figure what they might have done. Also people could somewhat relate to this poem since mostly when a girl wants to be treated right, the boy must remember what his mother said about treating a girl right or something.
I sorta get what this stanza means yet at the same time it makes me wonder by what you are trying to express to the readers. i would say that it would mean that if you are mean to a cowgirl, you will see from their P.O.V or something.Nitpick(s):
I understand the point of capitalizing "cowgirl" but correctly, it would be lower case since it is not a noun nor a name to someone.
Also throughout this poem, there are vague adjectives or words throughout this poem and I would suggest using more brighter words in this poem (some of the words within this poem can be kept) yet you repeat the word "treat" to where you could replace it with a synonym to that (or once again keep it since it agrees with its subject: subject-verb agreement).
lower case these love and kindness since they aren't a feeling but rather, a meaning or a symbol in life and that seems like a noun or a feeling.
this seems a little plain and also maybe add a comma after -before.
Overall, i enjoyed this poem as much as everyone else who would read this. i enjoyed the rhyme scheme also the message within this: treat a girl right or she will treat you like you treat her.
Farewell,
Tuesday
Thank you so much Tuesday for your review, it helped in many ways!
Hey there!
So, I like this poem quite a bit. I love how lighthearted and funny it is.
Your title might be a tad misleading, though - when I clicked on this I was expecting a more sad work.
I like how simple this is, and the rhyme scheme works pretty well. I think I'll go through and pick out a few trouble spots.
This line is a bit confusing. I'm pretty sure you're trying to say that they'll be torn into four pieces (quarters), but it's worded awkwardly. When I first saw it, I thought it meant "quarters" like "rooms."
This line is rather long compared to the rest, and the "with" kind of throws me off. Perhaps "Treat them wrong and you'll find yourself centered in their sights"
Perhaps "what you have sought" would work better.
And that's about it! This is a great poem - good luck and keep writing!
Thank you so much for your review! It helped and encouraged me!
Okay, finally, some more poetry in the green room! Since this is the first comment, I'm gonna start with the feels and then do grammar. I know, the dreaded grammar! :3 Okay then, feels. I really like the line, "Cowgirls don't cry, those words stick in my head." And also the line, "Treat them like dirt and they will take flight, but not before they bite." That line was really good. Okay, onto grammar. Overall this poem is kind of a choppy read, I would elongate some of the lines to make them long enough to match the line before them, so that way it is a smoother read.
"Cause in quarters you'll be torn" - Since "cause" is short for because in this context, you need to put an apostrophe before it, so it reads like, 'Cause in quarters you'll be torn and also, I would replace in with into.
"Love and Kindness with come your way" Correct me if I am wrong, but in this context I don't see why Love and Kindness are both capitalized.
Congrats on a good piece!
