Go away, School.

E - Everyone

In poetry

They ask me if I’m ready,

And I must admit I’m not,

For who likes to be condemned

By the facts that they forgot?

I love to learn and wonder,

To think and to reflect,

But despise the useless words

That they make me recollect.

I want to learn to grow,

And not to be the same.

They tell me to be different,

but new ideas they declaim.

They tell me to be rested,

Yet sleep they don’t allow,

Instead they give me tons of work

That I have to do somehow.

I enjoy the opportunities,

Professors who do care,

But I would rather stay at home,

And learn the facts elsewhere.

I totally agree with everything that you said here. School is coming up and I know everyone is dreading it but for me its the last year. The last two lines on the second paragraph I'm not sure I liked the way you phrased them but they could still work there. I loved how you said "they tell me to be rested yet sleep they don't allow." It is so true! all in all I loved it. keep on keeping on.

Reminton38 here for a review!

Honestly I really liked this, I was short, sweet, and really funny. The rhymes were really funny and the idea very relatable. I know this poem speaks for a lot of people and you hit the nail on the head. Really overall this was just a fun lighthearted poem that is very enjoyable.

As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.
