The Storm

In poems

My breath is short,
My heart is pounding.
As I pull away,
A part of me is dying.
I can't speak, I can't sleep.
My tears are falling like rain.
My heart is breaking
A storm is blowing in.
I hold on with the little strength I have left,
as the storm is raging on and on,
It won't stop.
What have I done?
I gave up my strength,
My heart lyes in ruins,
Fallen in the dust.

I think this poem has some real promise. Most of the things you should change about it are minor, but it has everything necessary to be a great poem. It has emotion, imagery, and connection. I felt what was happening. I understood it, but there are a few mechanical tweaks that could be used to make it better.

i really enjoyed this poem.
I can really connect to the person, experiencing the 'emotional' storm.

"My tears are falling like rain." i loved this line because the similie was very cleverly written. So that the rain almost forshadows a comming storm.
Good use of vivid imagery, i could really picture this.

"as the storm is raging on and on" i also liked this because it indicates a non stop battle, a continuation.

keep up the great work!!

i'll have to check out your other submissions.

i'll have to

I like the overall theme but the way the sentences fit together is something I'd change. The imagery is quite good and vivid and the feelings portrayed by the poem are clearly defined. good job :D

are we even writers if we never did huge research and used none of it?
