A lone twinkling star born
in heaven that doomed night,
as you flew across the sky
with your new angelic wings.
Petrified with the greatest horror
in that heart-wrenching moment,
we broke into a million shards
but some pieces were lost forever.
An infinite void swallowed us all
into its dark ravine full of grief.
Sobbed with pain and fear
I gasped to call out your name,
as we rushed to pick you up
but you were already gone.
That one last scary scream
is all that echoes in emptiness.
It has to be a Devil himself
who took away your soul
because how can a God
ever be so wicked to anyone.
A soon-to-be-bride, now
laid down on her own pyre.
Only unspoken words
you left behind for us.
We can only take solace
that you have been released
from this pain and suffering.
An eternal peace has fallen
upon your beautiful soul.

though you are apart

What’s a Rakhi?
It's a festival of Hindus but also celebrated by many others especially in south Asia every year to witness the love between a brother and sister. On this day every sister ties Rakhi (sort of a bracelet) on her brother's wrist, a bond made of love to mark a promise of life long care, protection and welfare between them. No matter if they live in two different corners of the country or the world, she will still come to tie her Rakhi or even if she can't come herself, she will still send her Rakhi through post and for this special day the entire Postal service works on its toes to make sure each one of them reaches by this day on time to the receiver. But unfortunately mine will never come now <3

This is a really beautiful poem. I can relate I lost my older brother when I was 8 I wasn't completely sure if it was really real or was it all a bad dream. Until I turned 13 I really started to understand that I couldn't just love him back or bring him back. So I started to show out for attention because that was my way of grieving. It has been a couple of years since he was taken from us. My family is now starting to move on, he was our humor, our jokester, our joy and no one will be able to replace him. Just like no one will be able to replace your sister. The worst part that they never found out who did it. So for me to read this me to the heart because I know exactly know how it feels to lose someone you loved.
I really feel sorry that you too had to undergo such a trauma. Sending you lots of love and strength <3

This poem tells a really beautiful story that rises and falls with each verse. It's specked with human experience and all the human emotions that a person can feel: anger, love, grief and hope. My favourite line was:
because it expresses that sense of being devoured and swallowed away into pain and woe. I love your use of imagery and how you have used that symbolism of being broken into a million shards and some were lost forever reminds me of what it is to be broken, split apart and shatter like glass. It shows how fragile humans really are and how easy it is to break apart.
This was a really nice read, and I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that you are okay and find peace.
