I shiver as the cool metal touches my wrist
And I pull it across quickly
Smiling as the pain slowly sets in
Numbing my senses
I pull it across again and again
Watching the blood run down
Feeling each stinging slice
Picturing each cruel memory
All the hard pasts
Carving in new futures
For all the world to see

Hey CamorynAnn I'm Strange and I have a review for you on this holiday called Review Day!
I do have to agree with AEChronicle. It is written well. It has a powerful enough punch to knock someone out, but their reflexes reacted. Great writing, as it made me cringe. I know the issue, cutting, but not the message. It powers through, but the message is a few steps behind. I love how its written though. Its really impressive. I do look forward to reading more of your works
Overall, great writing, but dips below
Strange gives you...
7.1/10
Great job
Keep writing
Stay groovy, my friend *Hair flips*
Paint the roses red, my dear
Well, I'm not exactly sure of the message you are trying to convey. If it is that this sort of thing is so disappointing to see and you wish it would stop, then I am with you one hundred percent. But if it is the opposite, and you have written this because you believe it to be true, then I have to say that I disagree.
In any case, the poem itself has some emotion in it that I can sense. The "pain" and suffering that people might attempt to release is very real, and I can tell that, in your poem, the person cutting their wrist is almost in a state of euphoria. Releasing pain with more pain? It's a strange, but very interesting topic, and you've definitely captured that here.
I can't say that I much care for the poem because of the subject matter, but it is written well. Good job.
Thank you CamorynAnn!
Hi CamoryAnn! I would really love to talk to you because this is such a very emotional subject to write and very usual. What is it with us young people and cutting, really. Nevertheless, I liked it because I felt every emotion and it has so much feeling. I especially like the "Feeling each stinging slice
Picturing each cruel memory
All the hard pasts" The image of a scarred, young girl hurting herself for things that weren't really her fault was so hard to bear on this three lines.
This is a really good piece. I mean it.
Hello camorynAnn, interesting subject you chose to write there. And a risky one there, cutting isn't always the easiest to write nor the easiest to capture. But it seems there, even though with the simple language, you have captured a realistic and raw picture of it. The pain that sings through cutting that eases your pain.
There's not much to nitpick, except for a few.
I think a comma between, across and the first 'again' might have been useful.
I really liked that line, is simple but conveys a lot.
So overall, good job and keep on writing!
