I Want to Write But I Can't

E - Everyone

In old poems

I want to write but I can't,

the words won't come out of me.

I can't work with words,

and they can't work with me.

.

Other people can write,

so then why can't I?

But now I understand,

now I know why!

.

Let the words flow onto the page,

let them spill out of you!

And so that I know,

that's all you have to do!

Hi :)
I really liked this poem. I feel like it is very clean and simple. It is very well organized, and it is very good that you keep the same structure throughout the poem. The conflict you address is very relatable and common among the writers!
Your poem also creates a certain irony within itself. You write about not being able to write! :)
The personification of words, is very interesting and brings in a certain imagery along with it.
One thing that I personally feel this poem lacks (this is just my personal opinion) is that you don't show the process of realization of you character. You start the second stanza by questioning "Other people can write, so then why can't I?" and then you jump to "but now I understand, now I know why". I feel like the development is missing. You choose not to show who told you why you can't write, what happened so that you learned? This is not even a negative comment towards your work, but rather an expression of thought.
Otherwise this is a really great poem! You should definitely keep writing :)

Hi Sunny, I am Doc!

I like this piece for its simplicity. It is innocent but describes a struggle that writers often face, even seasoned ones such as myself. However, it also describes an even more challenging struggle - it describes the complexity of the expression of human emotions. This is an existential struggle that humans face, especially in adulthood. In fact, I find that the older I get, the harder it is to write and express myself. When you are a child, there is something easier about it - perhaps that is because the emotions you feel in childhood are not as complex as those you experience in adulthood. Anyway, that is my interpretation of this piece.

I like how in the first stanza you rhyme "me" and "me"... Normally, I cringe with that kind of thing but you somehow make it work. Then, in the second stanza you impress me again by rhyming "why" and "I".

My one nitpick here is I really dislike the second last line of the piece. It is awkwardly worded. I would change it to: "And now I know,"... Just sounds a little easier on the ears to me!

Overall, I enjoy this sing-song piece. Keep writing!

Okay, I will! :D

Hey, Sunny!! Rainy here for a quick review.

This piece was really cute, and, very, very relatable. I mean - everyone here is a writer (if not a writer, then a reader) - so I think everyone understands where this is coming from. You added a unique spin to this idea, though. It's not boring; it has it's own sweet tune and rhythm.

I like the second stanza. Mostly the first two lines. I love how it makes me feel that feeling like when I'm at school, and everyone is scribbling on their papers and I'm left there wondering what to write about. It's nice and reminds me of inspiration. :D

One thing that didn't work with me was your reason why you couldn't write. Let's take this step by step so I can explain what I mean.

I want to write but I can't,

the words won't come out of me.

This second line you have here - you're saying the words won't come out of you.

Then, your reason:

Let the words flow onto the page,

let them spill out of you!

It's quite the same, no? Except at the beginning you're saying you can't (and you're already revealing your reason) and then at the end you give your reason, which is quite like how you couldn't at the beginning.

I think that's about all! This was a very cute poem and very relatable.

Keep writing!

Thank you! :D

No problem :D

Hello.

First of all,

"so then why can't I?"

It would sound better with just

"so why can't I?"

Another thing, I can't feel anything from your poem. The genre you've chosen is "realistic", I'm supposed to feel something REAL. From what I can see, I'm supposed to feel inspired and encouraged, but, I don't because, somehow, your writing feels half-hearted.

I read your poem, "I wish I was a dog" and I felt happy and cheerful reading it, because, it was unique and out of the box. This poem lacks that uniqueness.

"I can't work with words,

and they can't work with me."

These two lines are nice and spicy, because, you played with the words and it sounded good. The rest of the poem desires a similar piquancy.

Sorry for the really foul review. Please keep writing better.

Okay, and thank you. :)
