Infuriating

Why do we have to have hormones?

They're so stupid and really are dumb

How can I tell you what I'm feeling

When I don't even know what myself?

Why can't we do away with them?

-----

You ask how I feel about you

I don't know, please tell me

Do I really love you?

Or is just the idea that I love

Why can't I figure this out?

-----

When I am around you

I feel flustered and happy inside

My gut twists around in a constant fight

And my mind just won't stay in line

I try to remain calm on the outside

-----

When I am away from you

My thoughts just won't come with me

They stay with you for a while

This is really conflicting

You have dominated my mind

-----

I really like you, I know that much

You like me back, I know that too

But how do you feel towards me?

What do I make you feel?

And is it real for you?

-----

You love to cuddle

you're fun to be around

You love to make me laugh

You have no boundries

yet you honor all the ones I've found

-----

You say I am sweet

You like that I am kind

You love how much I help people

You smile at my happines

And you think my laugh is cute

-----

You are attractive physically too

With your dark hair you say you cut too short

Your big brown eyes that always have laughter in them

Your dimples that pop out when you find things amusing

Your adorable smile is my favorite part

-----

I know you as two different people

The boisterous and bubbley guy

Who loves a good joke

Who has so much positive energy

And tickles me to bring out my smile

-----

I also know you as another person though

The intense and interested one

Who makes sure I don't do stupid things

Who gives me hugs when you don't know what to say

And who hates to see me sad

-----

You also know me as two people

The goofy and grinning chick

Who always has a sassy remark

Who cannot stop making jokes to save her life

And always tries her best to keep people up

-----

You also know me as a totally different person

As the somber and solemn girl

Who is completely serious when she looks at you

Who speaks quietly and with meaning

Who shows you her soul in words

-----

You like me for those things

But what would you do if you met the third me?

The one that is emotionally train-wrecked

Who breaks the tension of her skin with blades

Who cries in the dark so no one will see her

-----

Would you still like me?

Would you see the good me's

you would you only see the dark side of me

I want to trust you would still care

But what if you don't?

-----

If you left, you wouldn't be the only one!

The first? My best friend, who backstabbed me and made excuses

She didn't care, it didn't affect her

The second: the guy who had been my advisor of sorts

He helped me set my life on a straighter path, but he left without a goodbye

-----

You would be one of my close friends

who left me for whatever reason

Am I just that lacking?

Are people just really that uncaring

Or was it something else

-----

Inside; there is a swirling vortex

In my concious; there is a raging storm

In my mind; there is a choice to be made

In my body; there is such turmoil I don't know what to feel

And in my heart? There is only confusion and doubt.

-----

And I've collected all these thoughts
And I'm dying just to lose them
And if your words are true or not
I'll die trying to prove them
But I'll just have to accept
That my mind is so inept
And the only thing that's left
For me to do is to trust you

AutoPilot what the heck?!?!?! Why do you have to write something so.....

AMAZING AND EPIC AND OH MY GOSH I SWEAR THIS IS SERIOUSY ME IRL OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH MY BOYFRIEND HAS ALL THOSE POSITIVE TRAITS AND SERIOUSLY YOU DESCRIBED ME IN THERE.... VOODOO, I SAY! VOODOO!

Okay! Now that I have my humor and jealously out of the way, :D time for an actual review. The first two stanzas, I was like, ehh okay sounds like a typical teenage girl. It didn't quite hook me, but I decided to keep going. After all, I can soooooo relate to a teenage girl ... I am unfortunately but fortunately one :D

The emotions and simple use of vocabulary were well fluctuated with the flow of your work, but this jumped out at me:

You like me for those things
But what would you do if you met the third me?
The one that is emotionally train-wrecked
Who breaks the tension of her skin with blades
Who cries in the dark so no one will see her

OH MY GOSH AGAIN THIS IS ME I'VE DONE THIS AND FELT TRAIN-WRECKED WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WRITE SUCH A WORK THAT MAKES ME JEALOUS????

:D :D Thanks for sharing! By the way I have nothing negative to say

I'm currently telling myself to stop laughing.. and I'm not listening!
Thanks for the review, I love writing things that people find so little negetivity in. I'm glad you like it and can relate. I feel like life is like that in general, and people all over can connect through it.

Again, I am glad you like it! :D

:D Stop laughing! XD

*composes face* -_-
:D fail...

:D I seriously need to meet you irl and then we can laugh about everything and write together

:D
I agree so much!

:D *invites you over to my house, you see an insane asylum but come in anyways. I creepily smile at you and watch you as you meander around. Then I give you a cup of tea*
Haha, jk, I'm just a normal teen no craziness here :)

I love this poem, I can relate to it way too much ahaha! The words flow beautifully! The way you used phrases like "My guts twisted around in a constant fight," was an awesome way to describe how you were feeling, sort of like the cliche line "Butterflies in my stomach" but twisted around a bit which made it original.

I really like the ending where you described how you were feeling about it all - but in different ways. "Inside; there is a swirling vortex, in my conscious; there is a raging storm," etc. Throughout the poem you seem to describe the different feelings you experience, which is good as it sort of fits the image of 'crazy hormones' which you wrote about at the start.

Awesome! :)

Thanks for the review!

I love all the pro's you've pointed out. Now I'll just edit in a couple of things and presto chango! it will be beautiful...

You stuck to a clear message and even managed to stick a tone shift in at "You like me for those things," which is often admired when studying poetry. However, I would work on improving your vocabulary some. It comes with experience, but practicing always helps. Some parts of the poem seemed forced to stick with poetic devices. Such as, "Your adorable smile, it's my favorite part" is in backwards sentence structure and doesn't really need to be, unless you're trying for Yoda. I like that you had an anaphora going on with "your, your, your," but perhaps rearranging the phrase to "your adorable smile is my favorite part" would work just as well and make more sense.
You're off to a good start and I hope things get better for you if what you said about cutting is true. Things may look rough now, but there is always hope for the future. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I have an open ear. (:

Thanks for the review!

I wasn't trying for Yoda :) it just sounded right in my head, and when I read it out loud. I do see what you mean though, I will mess around with that. And it's good knowing I'm not alone..

Thanks again! :)

Hey I'm Caitie.
First off I so relate to this, I don't understand why we need hormones. They just make life more confusing. You think you might like someone and you feel butterflies in your stomach and your heart aches when you see him smile. I love how you talk about that if you show the other sides to you how would they really feel. Sometimes we are too scared to let people see the more emotional and darker side(i guess?) of people. Again I just love this poem and I hope i get to read more of this kind of stuff because it is awesome.

I knew I'm not alone...

I understand the phrase "Butterfli is your stomache" at this point in my life... Stupid butteflies :D

*"Butterflies in your stomache"

You did a great job but I am going to give a few suggestions
1."Why can't we do away with them" Try putting a question mark at the end of this sentence. This is only because the rest of the poem has proper punctuation.
2.You put words that expresses feeling and that is good. What if you Balance that though with words that create a picture, For example:
"Inside; there is a swirling vortex
When On the outside; I still look clean and proper" It shows how that person feels and how they look on the outside.

Other than that I have nothing else to say. You did a very good job so keep up the great work!

Thanks for the review!

There was suppsoed to be a ? there...
