I’m not scared of the demon (Melinda’s song to Samuel)

by vampricone6783

*This song is underneath my folder titled “Town of Richardson”. Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs <33”. Enjoy!*

INTRO:

“Why would I be scared of you? You’re my brother.”

SONG:

I’m not like our parents

They scare off anything that looks like a monster

I know who you are on the inside

And I know that you’re kind

I’m not scared of the demon

Why would I be?

I know you’re my older brother

And I know you wouldn’t hurt a fly

I know you never liked the circus

You went on and on and on

Yet I still loved you

For taking me to my happy place

Now I’m gonna help you

I’m gonna bring a smile to that face

Just like you have done for me

Countless times, not just one, but three

I’m not like our parents

They scare off anything that looks like a monster

I know who you are on the inside

And I know that you’re kind

I’m not scared of the demon

Why would I be?

You’re my sweet brother Samuel

And I’m not gonna run from you

I’m gonna stay

And let you know that

I will always love you

Brother…

Hello, Vampricone! Wist back again to leave a short review of your song. ^^

Your song struck a chord with me. It beautifully captures the pure and unwavering love between two siblings, and it resonated with my own experiences as an older sister. The introspective lyrics delve into the speaker's unwavering support for her brother, regardless of external appearances or societal judgments. The message of unconditional love and understanding is powerfully conveyed through the poignant lines. Additionally, the gentle, melodic composition enhanced the song's emotion, making it a truly moving piece. You've written a reminder of the strength found in familial bonds and the ability to see past external perceptions. With that said, let's dive into your song.

Yet I still loved you
For taking me to my happy place
Now I’m gonna help you
I’m gonna bring a smile to that face
Just like you have done for me
Countless times, not just one, but three

I find this stanza particularly sweet. It's just a young girl who wants to pay back her brother for always doing right by her and refuses to let how he's changed ruin their special bond. It's not a privilege some people get, so seeing Melinda care so deeply for Samuel despite everything is amazing. I've noticed you work with themes of siblings quite a few times, and I would say you do it well. I'm assuming you have a sibling of your own, so it's always fascinating to watch authors draw from their experiences. If you don't have a sibling, you've done a good job writing their relationships realistically.

Overall, this was a really sweet song. It's always fascinating to watch the younger sibling getting to be the protective one since it's usually always the older sibling playing that role. I wish Melinda and Samuel a happy life! Thanks for publishing; I enjoyed reading.

Happy Writing!
Wist

Hey friend! I am back with another review for one of your lovely songs. Let's not waste any time, and let's jump right into the review:

I’m not scared of the demon

Why would I be?

I know you’re my older brother

And I know you wouldn’t hurt a fly

I really love the message of this one. The lyrics are wonderful! Her brother might be a demon, but she still trust him unlike other people. She feels safe around him and knows that he doesn't plan on hurting her or anyone else. It seems that others have lost trust in him, but she still has this faith. Show some really strong love!

I’m gonna stay

And let you know that

I will always love you

Brother…

I liked this, ominous ending, how you leave off with the word Brother. It makes me wonder if somethings going to happen, or if she's starting to worry. But overall, I love the faith that she has in him, and the kindness that we see from her towards her brother, Samuel. I like the simple organization of this song. I would love to hear what your songs sound like someday! They are simple, but they really tell stories. It's very much a narrative piece that goes through your stories, which I would love to continue to keep up with because they are always amazing. So overall, lovely work on this, and I loved it!

Your friend,
Ellie
