Battle

This is another weird dream I had. The Xenomorphs are off of the movie Aliens, so I guess you could call this a fanfiction. Aliens is a movie about basically these aliens that like to kill and breed in the most horrible way. http://images.wikia.com/deadliestfiction/images/8/81/ALIEN-XENOMORPH-650x406.jpg

Imagine the world in the future. You think it would be pretty cool right? With flying cars and teleportation it would be a dream come true? Wrong. One word that describes this unfriendly world? Horror.

I’m a teenage girl, and already, I’m ordered to fight for my life.

Here’s the plan, we’re hoping that the only way to get on this island where situated on is by this white bridge that stands out in the night sky. Below it, the water licks at its legs. We have these guns set up with sensors, so anything that isn’t human will basically be dead meat if it tries to get across. Of course, that’s what we’re hoping.

Surrounding the island is a fence that is basically unstoppable. You see, it’s made of these thick laser beams that are deadly to touch, they can cut a truck in half easily. Thing is, the gate has broken down, so once the battle starts, there’s no stopping it.

I wasn’t supposed to be here, I wasn’t supposed to defend myself, but I kind of ended up on the wrong boat. My family was headed elsewhere, somewhere ‘safe.’ One of the safe places was compromised and I’m hoping hard it wasn’t the one my family were contained in.

It’s deadly silent, you wouldn’t suspect that we’re at the edge of a war. The moonlight reflects of the calm water as it sways rhythmically back and forth.

Here’s the thing, one month ago, Earth was one of the safest places in the universe. That was until a ship brought back and alien that was highly sufficient. A Xenomorph . It only took one of them to breed like rabbits. Now they’ve killed hundreds of us, and they like to hang out in our cities, waiting for us to return.

Now that the Earth is a complete wreck, these other aliens that we don’t know much about have decided to try and take Earth from us for, who knows? Maybe the water supply.

These aliens look kind of like scaly fish things. There pretty muscly and don’t use weapons but their own alien ‘guns’ to rip us to shreds. I’ve only seen them and the Xenomorphs on TV.

Tonight was my lucky night though. Tonight I got to get nice and close to them.

These aliens were smart, unfortunately. They went under the bridge and took it as a root when they figured that our guns were unbeatable. Soon my surroundings became a blood bath. At the bottom of the road that wound its way up to our base, the Xenomorphs easily clawed us down. The screams from the men drifted hauntingly up the hills. I hear gunfire, and then yells of pain as the Xenomorphs’ acid blood explodes onto the men’s skin. And then the other aliens take their advantage, they teleport down streams of yellow light.

Finally, I get to see one up close. It’s busy allowing its skin to eat up a shower of bullets that a young man desperately fires. With one sweep of its clawed scaly hand, the man’s dead on the floor. I was frozen on my feet with fear. My doom turned around to face me. I gulp and turn and run, heading for the base, heading for a free weapon. I reach the sacks of sand where a couple of men in their army uniforms are patiently waiting for a battle.

Conveniently, there were some guns and various weapons sitting on the ground, as if waiting for me to use them. I picked one up, and steadied it on my shoulder. Behind me, I hear a growl. I expect it to be the officers getting up me for touching their weapons. Instead, when I whirl around a Xenamorph is racing towards us, saliva springing out from its black lips.

Instinctively, the men begin to fire, but panic rises in me when I realise I have no idea how to use a gun. But soon I figure out how, my fingers shaking uncontrollably over the trigger, I close them tight while praying to god this works. The power almost blows me off my feet.

At this moment, this alien seems to be darting straight at me, and to my dismay, none of my bullets are hitting. Doom is printed all over my face.

And then its head explodes.

Green acid cascades everywhere in beautiful glory, and some just happens to land on my arm. I scream as acid eats at my flesh and exposes my bone.  I scream like an animal, this pain is so extreme. The fight isn’t over just yet. Another alien is racing towards us at great speed.

Maybe it was just me, but this alien seemed to be grinning at us as it races towards its pray. The bullets hardly affect it, like a lion, it pounces onto the guy next to me. Its extra mouth pops out of its mouth and bites into his head, he screams but is dead in seconds. I continue to shoot the hell out of it. My gun, unfortunately, seems to have no effect.

The alien then turns to me, and like a panther, slowly creeps towards me. “Oh shit,” I choke. I back away, I’m surprised I can still move due to all the fear swelling up inside me. The man continues to fire at it, hoping that it will take the damage. It doesn’t.

That’s about the time I turn and run. Surprisingly, it doesn’t follow me. I figure that the Xenomorph turned around and decided to get up the man for shooting at it due to the screams that were louder than a jet plane.

Seeing all the chaos on the road below me, my instincts kick in. I dash towards a bush, and literally dive into it. It wasn’t entirely graceful, I ended up with sticks forming a birds nest in my hair. Then I hear claws clacking on the bitumen. A Xenophorm creeps up the road, sniffing at the air and hissing in response. Its head darts towards me, and it lets out a growl. My heart sinks. If it finds me, this gun isn’t going to stop it from clawing out my eyeballs.

I try to swallow my whimpers that are caused by my acid burn. When I look at it, it’s even worse then before. I try not to move, but my whole body is vibrating like a tractor, and it just so happens to be making the bush I’m lying in shake. Like a domino effect, the entire line of hedges are now wobbling like jelly.

This seems to confuse the alien. It twists and turns as it desperately tries to find its pray, me. Suddenly, a burst of pain severs up my arm. I let out a squeak and then regret it immediately. The alien is now pouncing towards me. I lye still, my fate totally clear to me, and approaching terrifyingly fast. I squeeze my eyes shut, and shield my face with my good arm.

Then I hear a thud, followed by silence. I slowly open my eyes, and a smile sweeps across my face. A lizard-fish alien has landed on the Xenomorph, and was now pounding the hell out of it. One blow to the head, another to what I’d call a stomach. Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion. The pounding went on as the alien hissed in fury. And then the hissing stopped, and the night was silent for a second.

The alien panted, its exhilaration leaving its body. It then turned, and walked up the road to where my previous battle had been. I let out a sigh of relief, thankful as anything I was still alive. I watched it, and for a moment, it turned and looked right at me. What seemed to be a grin curled its scaly lips, and then it turned, and walked on.

I shuddered, unsure of what just happened. I stood from the bush, brushing myself off, then I  heard a grenade detonate. The force rumbled across the ground and popped my ears. The sound went away. I saw men and woman in uniforms running up the road towards me. I looked over at the bridge, several Xenomorphs were running across it. The guns couldn’t get them all. Yellow lights were appearing everywhere as more aliens teleported down. They ignored us, and instead attacked the Xenomorphs.

They came closer, the soldiers, and one grabbed my sore arm. The pain woke me up from my trance, and I was yanked up the road towards a waiting helicopter. Our steps echoed in my ears. To make things more dramatic, it starts to rain. By the time we reach the helicopter, we’re drenched.

I jump inside and someone buckles me up. “You right kiddo?” she asks, but the words drift right through my ears. I look out the door where a final Xenomorph is racing towards us, its claws drenched in blood and its teeth dripping with hunger. I’m too exhausted to warn anyone, everyone seems too busy buckling up to notice our doom.

The helicopter’s fans beat to life, the pulse getting stronger and stronger. We begin to lift of the ground. For a second, I think we’re safe. Then the alien bursts into the helicopter…

Greetings. This review was unasked for, but I'm here anyhow. :)
First off, let me say that I find this very interesting. The ending was particularly catchy, though maybe, and this is just me, you could get rid of the suspension dots, as a singe period might create more drama and suspense. This is just me being nit-picky, though, it's really up to you.
Also, you did very well in describing the bridge, but everything else is pretty much a mystery to me, especially the building and the shape of the guns. Remember, the readers don't know what's in your mind as you write.
Oh, and two other very nit-picky things:
A shield isn't 'unstoppable', as it doesn't move. Maybe 'undefeatable', or 'indestructible'
Also, a helicopter makes lots of noise. And if this one doesn't, you didn't mention it. On the contrary, you wrote 'Our steps echoed in my ears', which implies dead silence.
Hope this helped,
yours truly
