Shout your name into the forest
Do not leave behind any clues you ever existed
Kiss the eyes that haunt you at night
Walls do remember things
Stare at the mirror until everything becomes real
there is no color grey

To say this has suspense and that it's mysterious you were definitely right. Though it's short that's what makes it affective.

It's mysterious and its hard to rule out the story behind this.
There was just one problem I found with it,
"Shout your name into the forest
Do not leave behind any clues you ever existed."
Wouldn't it make more sense to not shout your name into the forest, as you don't want to leave behind any clues that you were there?
Everything else is great and well written.
Good job and keep on writing.

Wow. This is such an interesting piece. I definitely felt the regret in the poem, and there are a lot of strong lines: "there is no color grey" and "kiss the eyes that haunt you at night" stand out to me especially. I'm going to review this line-by-line, since its just so unique.
"Shout your name into the forest"-I like that you start out with a command, and continue with commands later on in the poem. This is a very visceral one especially. I would suggest changing "shout" to "scream".
"Do not leave behind any clues you ever existed"-For me, this is the weakest line. While I like the concept of it, the words seem really clunky and clumsy together. Something more like "Erase yourself and forget to exist" or "Hide the evidence of your existence" might be a bit more effective in context.
"Kiss the eyes that haunt you at night"-This is a good line. If anything, I might cut the "at night" at the end, but you could definitely leave it there and it still sounds great.
"Walls do remember things"-I would suggest making this the start of a second verse by adding spacing, because the subject matter seems to change a little bit from outdoorsy to more clinical. I love this line.
"Stare at the mirror until everything becomes real"-While I like this concept, I don't really understand this line, and I would suggest rephrasing it in a way like I did for the "clues" line.
"There is no color grey"-This is probably my favorite line of the poem, but is slightly contradictory to the "mirror" line. Is it meant to be? I think this is a great ending to the poem.
In all, great job! I'll definitely be checking out more of your work. Thanks for writing!
Hello Thank you for you detailed review! i really love some of your suggestions, this was one of those poems you scribble in your notebook at 3 am so the phrasing is kind of clumsy ( I agree)
That'd be great thank you
Right! I do the same thing. You're very welcome!
Hey there, Rhia here to review!
Wow, I really like the almost disjointed relation between the lines. They surprise you, cause they don't seem quite right separated, but altogether, they just draw on one another. And it really makes you think, too. It really earns point for being unique, it's so fully new and different. Very wonderful job.
As far as critiques, really just one little grammar thing
"Do not leave behind any clues you ever existed"
I think it would have a better sound as...
"Do not leave behind any clues that you ever existed"
Also, this is just out of curiosity. All of the lines begin with capitalization except the last one. Is that intentional, and if so, what was it meant to mean? Sorry, I'm just always nosy about those type of things, cause I love when people realize that there isn't some solid rule to how they capitalize, that it's their own choice. And I hate when people review telling you that you "forgot to capitalize". Yeah, to me, it just seems to make that last line come across as a really soft realization, so I wondered about your reason.
Hey thank you for the review!
Indeed I didn't capatalize it on purpose as I felt it was the final conclusion of the poem, there is no colour gray, there is nothing between love and hate, sleep and insomniatic nights, regret and truely believing in your actions.. I hope that makes sense (it does in my head..)
Yes it does, and yay, I like that. It's a nice touch to it, very final
Sort of cubist in a way. Perhaps akin to a young Virginia Woolf. It certainly does capture the ubiquity of regret while it is being felt. It would certainly be nice to see more development in the form of continuation.
Thank you very much!
