Why don't you?

In Poetry

Why don't you step out into the night?

And see that the stars

Are more gold than white

Why don't you step out into the night?

And see the cold

Isn't as chilling as you thought

Why don't you step out into the night?

And listen to the soft symphonies of Autumn leaves

That caresses against your heart

Why don't you

Let go of your worries

Your pain

And

let it all go

Into the gentle night?

I like this poem. I think that the short length of the poem fits really well with what you are saying here, just go out and enjoy night time for what it is. I share this same ponder and think that what you have to say is very beautiful. I really like this part of the poem:

"And listen to the soft symphonies of Autumn leaves

That caresses against your heart"

because I can visualize the leaves playing a symphony and just lying down to have them all fall over you and listen to the beautiful sounds they make as they peacefully fall. That is the beauty in leaves where they differ from humans, they fall with peace. I hope that your poem inspires many to go out and enjoy the night tonight. I know I will. Thank you for sharing.

Well, I'm genuinely touched. It's always nice to see something really 'upbeat', as opposed to depressing, and this certainly has a magical, almost fantastical feel. I especially like your "...see the cold/isn't as chilling as you thought"; I think this sums up the poem wonderfully. This honestly cheered me up. If I have a criticism, it can only be that it's a little on the short side for such a beautiful poem.

Here to review, like a mad person! I would like to start out with a round of applause! This is a very beautiful poem.

So, the poem flows very easily, kind of like a little river off the tongue. I kind of feel as though there should be more punctuation in this poem though. I also thought it was a little confusing the way the stanzas are. You begin a new stanza at strange points I personally think.

But all in all, it is a beautiful poem with a good message.

Keep writing and smiling,
Sarai.

Wow. So beautiful. I loved your lines, they roll off the tongue so smoothly. I honestly can't find no faults in your writing. The flow was strong and soft. Your wording made me feel warm and your lines are just amazing. I found this so calming to read and it made me feel safe somehow. I love your description of stars :)

*Salutes* has come to the rescview <----(har har funny joke) wait. why am I the only one laughing? o.o

I wish I could step out and do that, but I can't see but maybe 100 stars *misses the twinkle*

This poem is very short and sweet but it cuts to the bone - I especially like "the cold isn't as chilling as you thought" because it just captures all the splendor of how it unexpectedly just wraps you body after a few moments and it can seem comforting, even warm. Well, that's my experience anyway, and if that line can get to my memory bank then it's perfect.

I don't know if soft symphonies and autumn leaves go together. For me, soft symphonies just doesn't evoke the critical sound, maybe it's too general.

if you say caresses there, I don't think you need against. It'd be like saying touches, embraces, cuddles, etc. against your heart.

that third stanza might need a make over, just to beautify the cliche

in the last stanza, "let it all go" is weaker than it could be. You did just say let go in the previous stanza, but the more critical issue is that it ceases to come alive right there. I think if you gave it a little more imagery, even a slight touch, like let it flow or something, it would stimulate better.

Now overall, the poem was splendid! :D However, the last half or so doesn't meet the bar that the first part set, mostly those last two stanzas have little energy. If you could make that last part as crisp as the top, It'd be perfect!

I hope that wasn't too harsh :)

Nope, you weren't! I love criticism since it helps me to improve, actually looking back I see you have a point about the last two stanzas. I was a bit lost when I got there, even though it was written in a short time. Thank you for your time and review!
