Hello Laure!

This is Magenta reporting to review this haiku, Halcyon Days, which you have submitted to the YWS website for all to view, like, and see! I don't normally review haikus because they are so short in length and because it is hard to pick out the problem with the little bit that I am given.

I would first like to ask whether you meant peaceful days or the days of the Halcyon birds. There are two different definitions.
Halcyon- denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful: the halcyon days of the mid-1980s, when profits were soaring.
noun
1 a tropical Asian and African kingfisher with brightly colored plumage.
]
2 a mythical bird said by ancient writers to breed in a nest floating at sea at the winter solstice, charming the wind and waves into calm.

I especially like the imagery that I received with the vocabulary that you used. Whether to not you meant peaceful days or some tropical Asian bird, I can still see a this beautiful image.

I hope to see more of your works submitted to YWS! ;)

Hello Laure, Cheetah here to review your poem! I don't usually review haikus, but here goes: :D

This was so beautiful! I loved the imagery and I've highlighted some key words that I think give this poem that natural, peaceful feel.

balanced on tree tops

with sprinkled sunlight there lies

halcyon days

There's nothing here I would really change. Thank you for sharing and keep writing! :)

Hi,Rikki for a small and very brief review to a very small poetry.
This is a three lines poem which is more like a statement.
" balanced on tree tops

with sprinkled sunlight there lies "

OK balanced on tree tops and may be tree tops sprinkled with sunlight but

"halcyon days "

Now what is halcyon days?
Still not very clear about it. Is it anticipation of something to come or otherwise?

Anyways keep writing.
All the Best!!!

Ah, is actually a haiku. Halcyon refers to days that are calm and peaceful. Thanks though! I appreciate you taking time to read it!

I took only 5 minutes...

That's pretty long and that's not my point. ;)

Great start here! I like the idea of 'sprinkled sunlight.'
