You will Drown

In Poems

I saw you. There, breaking rules.
And so did Sir, you silly fool.
He talks and paces up and down
Asking 'Why've you been acting the clown?'

You nudge your friends hoping they,
Will have an answer to your prayers.
They simply shrug at you and nod
At Sir who stands there, like a God.

He says, with kindness, that he will not,
Tell your housemistress that you got caught.
But alas, alas, he lies to you all.
Down, on your head, the bricks shall fall.

Mistress she does chase you down
And looks upon you with a frown.
"Remove your bracelet, tie up your hair.
I've heard. Your punishment shall be fair."

You gulp and simply hope for the best.
You feel so different from the rest,
Their shining A grades and teachers praise
Fall upon them, with such ease.

She says "She'll talk to you next week",
With the two others and make you leak
Exactly what had happened in,
The boys dorms, where you had been.

Because of this, you cry and weep,
Ringing your hands, deprived of sleep
And, though you may try to wash it away,
With tears of anger and dismay.

You simply can't, what's done is done.
You can't erase it, or outrun
The chasing teachers, they'll hunt you down
And when they catch you,
You
Will
Drown

Now, i'm not a big fan of poems i can never understand them perfectly and they do not call to me as much as stories. BUT, this is the first poem i have truly ever liked!
Since i don't read poems much i have no idea if you have written this well or not :L But if you draw me in and made me fall in love with this poem then that's brilliant. :D Loved the rhyming couplets and the beats to the poem they were really rhythmic and stood out so perfectly.
What i will say though is i thought it was a boy at first but when i read about the bracelet and tying hair up i guessed it was a girl, but wasn't too sure about it.
But anyway really enjoyed reading and LOVED the ending it really sunk into me and stuck to me. Made me feel pity and worry for this character.
Please, please, please do more like this because i will defiantly read them!

I'm honoured that this is the first poem that you have ever liked! It's lovely to hear feedback like that. Thank you very much for your comments and yes the character is a girl (in fact the character is me, hehe).

oo i like that twist.
Love it when people put themselves in work, plus you have a much better way of expressing your character if it's yourself :)

Thank you :)
