Wow, I haven't been on here in a while.....but I need to know what you think about this piece....have at it!

My body lies under the dirt
A corpse, cold and stiff.
They think me dead, by suppose I might live
Tied a string to my toe
To wait….wait…
No breath fills my lungs
Not a muscle moves
Yet I feel alive with the soil
One with the damp earth.
The bell will never sound
My body never will rise
But I’ll be here waiting…
Waiting for you.

Haha- I was wondering if anyone would ask about that...Back when Edgar Allen Poe was writing, if someone was supposed dead, they would bury them but tie a string to their big toe up through the casket and up to a bell, so if the person was really alive, the person standing guard would hear it and dig them up. Sadly, the person supposed to be watching was usually drunk or asleep so this didn't really work well.

I love this poem. It has great descriptions and I love the creepiness of it all. Although I don't get
Tied a string to my toe
What's that all about?

Keep writing!

So, the last part kinda sent mini chills down my spine. Just saying. But I really really really like the poem. Awesome imagery, and it has a very good flow to it. Next to all of that, I really like what it was about and how you put it into words. Great job! :D

There are those who say that life is like a book, with chapters for each event in your life and a limited number of pages on which you can spend your time. But I prefer to think that a book is like a life, particularly a good one, which is well to worth staying up all night to finish.
