The prize: 10,000 points to the winner.

Open to: All works.
That includes; novels and novellas, essays, short stories, poetry, photography and art, lyrics and music, and anything else I've left out.

What's the catch?

You can't submit your own work.

What? Yep, that's right. You're only allowed to submit someone else's work.
Find something in the forums that has inspired you- something that you think deserves to win 10,000 points.

How it works:
You choose up to three works to submit, and post a link and (optional) your reason for submitting it, in this thread. Then when the deadline rolls around, myself and three secret judges will deliberate for many an hour until we come up with a 1st. 2nd, and 3rd place work. The winning author then recieves the grand prize.

Submission rules:
Each person can submit up to three works, but each work must be by a different author.
You can't submit your own work, or two works by the same author.
Works must be by a yws member who has written at least five reviews.
Works must have been posted in the forums during any time from March 2010 to present day.

Please post the title and author of the piece, and include a link (otherwise we have to track it down and that gets hugely difficult sometimes.)
Don't forget to mention why you like it so much. This is optional, but none the less great to hear.

Prizes:
Traditionally the prizes are as follows:
1st Place: 10k points. 2nd Place: 5k points. 3rd place: 3k points.
Runners up all recieve gifts.
Since points donations aren't configured just yet, if all else fails I'll update the thread nearer the time to alter the prizes. More prizes will be added as the prize fund grows.

Deadline is April 30th '13.

Extended to Tuesday May 7th '13

N/B This is a contest of good will. Members suspected of trying to rig the submissions will be investigated and disqualified at the judges discretion. Play nice, guys =]
We were born to be amazing.

Dog by BadNarrator. Kept my breath still and my eyes reading.

Folded Up by Persy. A wonderfully haunting story.

L'Hiver Approche by Jagged. Visceral and one of my favourite overall pieces on YWS.

I have three works I'd like to enter.

Croatia - the Land of Blood and Honey by klara1882
work.php?id=97960#c351243
I really liked this one because I could really feel it. Even though I've never experienced anything like what was described here, when I read it I feel like I've gone through it a hundred times.

Do you remember, Anna? by EmilyofREL

It left me speechless. I was astonished by the incredible use of voice, characterization, and emotion in such a short piece.

Bad Luck work.php?id=100552 by jackolantern. I may be a bit biased because I know the author personally in real life but, I'm submitting it anyways. It has a strong meter even though it's in free-verse, and paints a unique and emotional picture.

Okay so here's my entry!

This one guy BenGrange, is one of the best writers I've met, here's the first chapter of his book. It may not intrigue you but it's very, very well written and I enjoyed it : work.php?id=100034 The Pieces of Fownd.

Guineapiggirl's book here really was amazing and it got me going, really to get the full effect though you have to read all of it: work.php?id=99992 Gorbak the Gobux!

This one I ran into this morning really hit me, it was cool and very interesting! Plus it was very original! work.php?id=100224 It's written by MandaPanda1031. The City of Lonka.

Well that's it! I'm not sure how these are judged, but these are all cool stories for sure!
