In the Morning Sun

E - Everyone

In Poetry

Your dazzling smile puts to shame
The backdrop of the brilliant morning sunshine.

Your timid chocolate eyes
Suggest a casual omniscience over the world.

You are a formidable, yet comfortable presence
That challenges the unassuming crowd that surrounds us.

In the light of the perpetually radiant morning sun,
You are a flame that eclipses the most vivid of rays.

This is a well written poem and I liked how the thought and feeling as been conveyed in the form of words. However, you could improve a couple of things.
The first improvement that I would like to suggest is that you could omit the capitalization of the first letter of the second line of each couplet in the poem as it gives an amateurish feel. Moreover, the second line of each couplet is a continuation of thought to the first and it would also be grammatically correct to not capitalize.
I happened to notice a grammatical error in the line:
"You are a formidable presence..."
A person can have a presence, but a person cannot be a presence. Thus you can change this line to:
"Yours is a formidable presence..."

Other than these corrections, this is a well phrased flow of words.
Keep writing!

**My Thoughts**

Hey tgham! LZ here with yet another review! I liked this poem. It is one of my favorites of yours, it was very good and short. I like short poems a tad more than long ones, but that's just a personal opinion.

**Formatting and Grammar**

I can't say much about the formatting, but I do like how this poem looks. The stanzas being only (and evenly) two lines is great; same with there only being four stanzas. As I said before, I like short poems and this one is in my top 5 favorite!

For grammar, I didn't catch anything!

**Punctuation and Capitalization**

For this poem, I noticed you only used commas and period. It goes well for this poem and it looks very clean. The capitalization is great, too! I'm glad you capitalized every first letter.

**Quick Review**

I liked this poem! Have a good Tuesday!

Keep on writing, tgham!

Hey, FlamingPhoenix here with a review for you on this lovely day.

Let's begin! :D

I really like how you have written this poem, all the sentences are about the same length, allowing a smooth and gentle flow. Which I really like in poems, it puts the reader at easy and allows them to read at the pace you want. So great job that that part.
I also felt all the deep emotion in this work, I must say i was rather shocked with how much it affected me, but in a good way.
And I just love your worked choice, it was perfect. I like how you describe two things at once. I've never seen someone do that before so that was exciting. I think it's a person your describing in this poem, along with a sunrise. This just added to the poem in a really good way, and I enjoyed reading it.

Well that's all from me for now. I really couldn't see anything wrong with this peace, I did look but i couldn't see anything that could be corrected. I hope you will keep writing and post again, you should be very proud of your work. Have a great day or night.

Your friend
FlamingPhoenix.

Reviewing with a fiery passion!

This awe struck me. It hit me like you were talking either about a human or a pet. I thought it was well written. Thanks for writing this!!

This awe struck me. It hit me like you were talking either about a human or a pet. I thought it was well written. Thanks for writing this!! I was really impressed by the way everything was written. It was almost like I was there beside someone or something. This is just simply divine for being so short.

First of all, I was impressed by the beauty contained in these eight lines. It’s such a short space, yet you were able to convey so many ideas and images. The imagery was solid, and I really felt like I was completely immersed in the poem.
However, I did notice you used a lot of adjectives. There’s nothing wrong with adjectives per se, but if they are too many, it can be a sensory overload for the reader. And adjectives do have their limitations, compared to metaphors, similes, or other types of figurative language. At some points, I did feel a little overwhelmed by the number of adjectives. I would suggest either taking some out or replacing them with other descriptive phrases.
I also want to know more about the subject of this poem. Who is this person that the speaker is in love with? I didn’t really get a sense of them, only of the narrator’s love. You don’t need to describe everything about them, but it would be nice to get a few details. What are their quirks? What makes their smile, or their chocolate eyes, different from everyone else’s? As it is, it feels like there’s only one person in the poem: the speaker. I think it would be a lot richer if there was a sense of duality (if that makes any sense).
There were also a few phrases that just tripped me up. For example, the phrase “casual omniscience”. Omniscience, to me, is something very serious. It’s associated with God and dystopian futures, and I would never imagine it being “casual”, unless there were some explanation as to why it was that way. I could just be missing the significance/subtleties of the phrase, but I would suggest elaborating a little more on the meaning there.
I liked, however, the mystery of the poem. There were so many things under the surface that I could feel, but couldn’t quite name. It was very intriguing, and I was hooked the whole time. Nice job!

Thank you very much for your review <3 I did consider lenghtening it to include some more description/more details about who the poem is specifically about, but I ended up wanting it to remain as short as possible because I feel like it's really easy for me to get swept up with my own wordiness.. regardless, thank you again for your feedback <3
