Words fall out of open mouths
carelessly and without thought
they're born into the open air
infecting minds of all who hear
some words bring hope and inspiration
with others, only desperation
but no matter what, we cannot find
no matter how hard we all have tried
a way to know, before they go
the things each word can someday show.
So, speak each word quite gent'ly
make each a gift to carry
on and on, for generations
one spoken in every nation

I like this poem!
I enjoyed reading it with that kind of rhythm.
I also liked the message of course, it reminds me of my feelings. Sometimes we are not careful of the words we say, other times we keep on thinking what to say. The last part really touched me because our words do have great effect on people and in time. That's why we should speak of good words only.
Thank you rhiasofia its inspired me in many ways.
I'm really glad that you liked it, and so happy that it could inspire you! Thank you, that's probably the best compliment a writer could get, that their writing is inspiring.
i really like how the words just kind of flow into each other, and by making this poem go together like that makes it even better and more enjoyable. Yes maybe we all need to work on thinking before we speak even a little bit but we have the right to speak our minds and we just let a lot of things slip. For the first poem I've read from you i really like the message you put behind it. I agree that you should speak after you know what is going on in your head and are positive that's what you want to say. Just like what i'm saying is great job!
Hi, Rhiasofia.
I've always really liked your poems, and this one's no exception. The rhyming was flawless, as was the flow. You really got everything to come together quite perfectly, making the poem all the more enjoyable. You also put a really good message behind the poem. Yes, people do say some pretty stupid/ignorant/hateful things. But, that's the trade off for freedom of speech :p. My feeling is that people just have to think before they speak, and I think your poem really summed this feeling up quite well. I didn't find anything negative to criticize about this, so overall, great job!
