I think it's better to write about
a first heartbreak
in poetry pages than in journals,
The words can come out right
without sounding cheesy but
the pain is more apparent.
I don't know how,
I don't know why
how it came to be this way
All I know is that
his face is in my head
I can't really explain.
The pain is not so fresh,
it feels kind of numb.
but I wish I could confess
My chest feels hollow,
not like the day before yesterday
circumstances change.
His signals were clear-
he liked me a lot.
And I fell for it.
But not it's different- we're just friends
stuck in that horrible
Neverland
And I miss him more
than I ever thought I could
Turns out Neverland's not pretty at all.
It's dark but clear,
like the sky that's yet to rain
It never gets better than yesterday.
Maybe it was all in my head-
It'd do something like that
unlike how I expected.
But I can't believe that
I almost broke it off
so he couldn't hurt me.
But I changed my mind,
Wow how irony shows,
he hurt me instead.
Now we play music
and all I can hear:
the melody from our hearts:
It's cold-ringing- and
silent.
Hello there, Phoenixwriter! ^^
I am here to review this awesome piece of yours for you! As you know it's review day (GO TEAM YELLOW DUCK! 8D) and so I was wandering through the forums and kept wandering and then I saw this title and it dragged me right in! 8D And pfff why does this awesome piece not have a review yet =O *goes to fix that*
I hope I can give you a good and helpful review. I will do my best!
Pff, I am going to start off by saying that I really LOVE this piece! There are a million poems about heartbreak (I probably wrote some of those XP) and I've read quite a lot of them, yet this poem still amazes me and still gives me the feeling like I am reading something new. So congratulations on that!
I'm not quite so sure yet whether I like the formation of this poem, because it kind of broke the rhythm for me but at the same time it's also something special/different.
I think it would sound better if you scrapped the "how". =)
A comma over there would make it easier to read. =)
You either need to change that period into a comma or you have to capitalize the "b".
I think this should be "now".
Needs a comma. =)
It needs a comma or a period at the end. =)
Okay so those were all the grammatical errors I could find and don't worry at all because they are easy to fix! 8D
That was all I had to say for now. =) If you have any questions, just ask. Thank you for sharing this and keep writing!
