Life is Like a Hill

E - Everyone

In Poems

When life brings you down,
just get back up and show life the real you.
Screw what people say about you
and think about you,
you know the truth, not them.
We may not be what other people think we are,
but we're always going to be what we want
don't like it sorry,
all I can say is
don't hate what you can't have
and don't be jealous of what you can't touch.
Once life goes on, you finally find out
that not everyone you like, don't like you back.
Not everyone that you date/dated
that tell you they love you,
is telling the truth.
So screw life and set your mind
to what you believe in.

This is a nice poem! I like the name of the poem and that you clearly explains why its called Life is Like a Hill although out the poem. You did a good job and should continue writing poems! :)

Howdy there!

At first glance of your poem I really like the layout. Whether it was intended or not the layout of the poem is similar to that of 'hills' which immediately relates the layout to the title. This shows extensive thinking - thinking outside the box.

I love the use of enjambment I think it helps the poem to flow nicely as the use of punctuation separates the sentences, so good choice of sentence structure.

Generally I would say your word choices are exceedingly good, however you do repeat the word 'you' an awful lot. I know you're trying to be specific but I had to read it through twice just to confirm I understood that section, so just be careful :)

Overall a really nice piece of poetry.

Well done!
