What!?

In Short Stories 1

This is a nonsense poem, if you must know,

The rhyming doesn't quite work, and the words don't flow,

Critique it if you will, but this I must say,

It is a nonsensical poem of words on a page.

Babble you might, about my syllables and phrases,

The words are misspelled and ellicit appraises,

But answer me this, who did divine,

Such haphazard literary demands for rhyme?

Ha! I love this. It's so fun to read. I like how it does rhyme and that your rhyming isn't contrived, either. I'm also super impressed by your use of such ~big words~ in your poetry; I'm rarely able to use such language in my own. Great work!

BUT. BUT. RHYMING POEMS ARE AWESOME.

Oh, fine. Believe what you must! *cries*

Anyway, I will critique it, just because I must.

Babble you might, about my syllables and phrases,

That comma in the middle of the line there does not belong! STRIKE IT OUT!

The words are misspelled and ellicit appraises,

Did you misspell "elicit" on purpose, or is that a typo? :P

Anyway, it's an amusing poem! Keep questioning and writing... though, those things go hand in hand with each other, don't they? ;)

nice and short I liked it a lot, something to brighten my gloomy day. It was really clever and well done and I was just laughing away quietly. It was pretty original and amusing , don't know where you got the idea from but it's definitely paid of well. I would love to see more poems like these, keep up the good work!

hello! i smiled the whole time while reading this. This is very short but also a very clever poem, it had a strange sense of humor that i instantly fell in love with! You state it doesnt really rhyme or flow but it does not feel choppy while reading this. The last two lines are definitely my favorite out of the whole poem! Keep writing(:

Hello dbrick,

This poem made me smile. It stood out. That's the most important thing in writing, I believe. Good isn't enough, people have to notice what you wrote.

Your poem sounded just like a Shel Silverstein poem, it was witty, clever, and had an air of cheer in it.

Like you (obviously) said, the rhythm isn't perfect, but it still seemed to flow in a strange way.

My favorite thing about this poem is that it's about poetry. It's like one of those shirts that says "This is a shirt." It's clever in a simple way. The thing is, many people can't do this well. You, however. could.

Keep up the good work!

If this was a nonsense poem, then you must know, it fits me perfectly. It's very spontaneous and appealing, and I like your vocab and questioning. Despite the second line, I think the lines do flow. That said, I really connect with this poem because it describes my personality.
