Panic is the brother of procrastination,
Beating on my brain like the drums of the tribe,
I can’t find the heart to finish this last assignment,
What am I doing writing this poem?
Distraction is the friend of procrastination

This was a interesting piece, the meaning passed was really important.
"Beating on my brain like the drums of the tribe, "
I like the comparison to 'the drums of the tribe".
However I think it would be better written as the drums of 'a' tribe, rather than 'the' tribe, as you haven't mentioned any specific tribe.
"What am I doing writing this poem? "
would be better as
"What am I doing, writing this poem?"
As you can see I've added a comma after "doing".
Keep writing!
Panic is the brother of procrastination, - ooooh, playing around with Greek mythology. Pain and Panic. Me likey.
Beating on my brain like the drums of the tribe, - great simile. I love it, very original. And it shows great thought on your part.
I can’t find the heart to finish this last assignment, - most of us can't. LOL. This took an unexpected turn and it's what makes the poem funny.
What am I doing writing this poem? - rhetorical questions are great devices to use and it helps illustrate your point especially well. Great job.
Distraction is the friend of procrastination - indeed. That is a universal truth. Nicely pointed out.
I like this work. It's short, sweet and silly.
Great read.

Hello! So here's my attempt at a proper review...
I was immediately drawn to this poem by its title. I find it to be true through and through and the concept of these relatives of procrastination that you introduce is a very intriguing one.
Now, in your second line, you write "drums of the tribe", which doesn't make all that much sense. I know what you mean, but your wording doesn't seem to describe exactly what you mean. You're referring to the beat of the drums, yes? Perhaps you might want to consider describe the beating in something along the lines of "Beating on my brain to the rhythm of the sacrificial drums".
Between lines two and three, there appears to be a confusion in punctuation. I would suggest throwing out the comma and using a dash in the next line instead. In the last line, since you've already introduced a pattern of using punctuation, be sure to end with a period.
Overall, I really liked this poem. The description of the internal thought process (etc.) was very realistic, and I like how you brought in distraction as the friend of procrastination in the end. It makes the poem feel like it could go on, and lets the reader dwell on what it means for distraction to be the friend of procrastination.
Well done!
I absolutely love this poem
. I am quite the procrastinator myself, and this describes the feelings I have during its process completely! It shows how so many of us today procrastinate, and then completely flip out when we realize that the project is due. I love it, nicely done.
A poem that describes the fear from procrastination wonderfully.
I like this poem a lot. I connected immediately just be reading the name. Just right now, In your procrastination you have subsequently led to the procrastination of any and all who read this. I have an essay do tomorrow ,one in which only the first paragraph has been finished. Instead of writing it and finishing it, here I am writing a review for a poem that did nothing but relay to me the situation I now find myself in. This poem is amazing for (as stated earlier) I could connect to it and feel the fear of the final hours of a due project. I enjoy the creativity in this as well. So In short, an enjoyable poem that will definitely be going down as one of my favorites. (Side note: Did you ever finish that project spoken of in this poem or was it simple made up for the sake of the poem?)
Thanks for the review! Ha ha, yes, I did finish the assignment.
I love this...not because it was spectacular (I mean no offense by this, it was still well written) but because I can relate to this so well. Right now, I honestly should be studying for my social unit exam which will happen in approximately twenty minutes, and considering that I haven't studied for it hardly at all before this, I'm kinda worried....just not enough to get me to do anything about it.
Isn't procrastination the greatest?
Thanks for your review! I definitely feel your pain with that test, I hope it went well!
