Sitting deep in the murky fog,
that masks the deep throaty croak of a frog,
twisting it into the wail of a hollow spirit,
and no quiet life dares move near it.

The fog sits low around her head,
pulling that pious halo down like lead.
She had given him everything twisted within her,
and he had spoken of love in a deep soothing purr.

Then, in an act of tenebrous betrayal,
he forced her down in a fierce portrayal
of dominance and power, taking her down.
She screams but no one who cares is around.

He kisses her roughly, pushing her shoulders in the dirt.
She writhes and fights as he tears open her shirt,
bringing her hands up straight to his throat.
She struggled and fought as his eyes began to float.

As he let go of her to claw at her hand,
she pushes him off and stumbles to stand.
Dirt flies behind her as she bolts down the street
Downcasting her eyes, cheeks burning with heat.

She quietly sobs, tears lost in the mist,
and she wonders how she could have missed
The fact that he had used her to get what he wanted
and he never had cared, and her mind is haunted

By the tenebrous betrayal from the one she had loved.

Hi Sarah, the first thing I have to admit is that this is the first poem I've read about rape. And for being the first one I'd have to say that it was very well written. The poem had me captured for the entire time never letting me go even for a quick second as you had such good word choice and flow through out. So, overall I was very impressed and can't wait to read more.

Thanks! This is the first poem I've written about rape, so it was knew. I'm not really sure how or why I wrote this. Anyways, thanks again!

Hello Sarah12! It's Moonwatcher here, and I must say this poem was nice. The plot of the poem itself however was...interesting. I don't really read rape poems. The rhyme scheme was good, and I was definitely a fan of the poem's flow. However in the last stanza of four lines, I was a little confused on the punctuation. It doesn't follow the same rules as the stanzas above it. I'm not going to cover much of it, I usually find this kind of poetry rather disturbing. However, covering as much as I can of the poem, I must say congratulations, and that you did well. Please do continue writing poetry!

Thanks! To be honest, I really don't usually write like this, I don't know what happened. It just... I don't really know. None of my other poems are like this if you want to read them! Thanks again, I'll keep the punctuation in mind.
