Rose petals float on water,
floating,
floating,
floating.
A deep red, against a clear blue,
reflecting deep from the bottom of the pond.
Clear as ice, a shimmer that's barely there,
and quietly lapping to and fro.
Rose petals float on water,
floating,
floating,
floating.
The water disturbed by a stomping foot.
Then another,
and another.
A couple bounding with joy through the water.
Rose petals float on water,
floating,
floating,
floating.
Forever a symbol of love, friendship and peace,
The rose petals float, calm in the water.

Hey there, Sarah12! clogs here to review!
So overall this is a pretty nice poem. I think it could be improved in some areas, though.
I think that the imagery could use some work. Sometimes it seems like you're just telling us what's happening, so it gets kind of bland. For instance, in this stanza:
I feel like you could've done so much more with this. You've spent the rest of the poem setting up how peaceful the pond is, so this should be like a big surprise! SPLASH! But instead, it's just like, "Oh look. A foot. How exciting." I think you could use more poetic language to make this more interesting and surprising. Jolt the reader out of the nice peaceful mood!
This stanza, on the other hand, does an excellent job setting up the tranquility of the poem. The imagery is great. A+ here. I love the mental image of red on blue; it's very pleasing to think about. It's just that when the other stanza comes, it requires a change in the language to make it natural and not dull.
Also, in the first line, I don't think that the comma after "red" is necessary. Although you did do a good job with capitalization and punctuation overall.
As for the repetition of "floating, floating, floating," I didn't really take a whole lot away from that. It didn't really add anything to the poem, and sounded unnatural at times. Maybe you could find a different way to describe the motion of the petals? I mean, saying floating three times is a little dull, and it doesn't really serve any purpose. I think if you could make the repetition a little more meaningful, it might be better.
I don't really think you need to explain the symbolism to us so straightforwardly. We should be able to understand the symbolism from reading the poem. Maybe replace that line with a less... obvious line?
The last line was a nice ending to the poem, I think. Despite all the thrashing about from the couple running through the pond, they're still peacefully floating along. It's a nice return to the calm beginnings of the poem. I do think you could spice it up with a bit more imagery like you used in the second stanza, but it's not really imperative.
So, overall, I did really like this poem. It's very cute and sweet. I just love flower-related poetry for some reason. I hope my suggestions were helpful, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Keep up the good work!
So romantic and so sweet poem . Nice penning dear . Your thoughts and your carving are superb
I mean simple but touching. The rhythm is there like I can sing it .
"Floating, floating, floating"
Loved it. Nothing to criticize. As I find everything just to the point. Keep up the real good penning. Stay blessed !
This is really great. ;w;
This is an adorable poem! I love the imagery. For example, the water described as "clear blue" and "reflecting deep from the pond" suggests your theme of clarity and peace. The symbolism behind the reflection of rose petals on water, paralleled with a reflection of the couple's love is just beautiful. I love the repetition of:
"floating,
floating,
floating."
It gave the poem a good flow, structure and rhythm that emphasised the theme of content, peace and of the feelings associated with water. I felt that you used the entire concept of rose petals on water as a beautiful metaphor for a loving relationship and I found that really lovely.
Overall, good work!
