authors note: in my old relationship, my "boyfriend" only wanted sexual things out of me, even when I resisted and told him no. Finally after 7 months I broke it off, and this all happened like 2 years ago and still haunts me. Victims of sexual assault in ANY WAY deserve to speak out and share their story, so this is mine. Yes, I am still a virgin, but I could have almost lost it if I let him do any more. My story is not as severe as others yet I felt like i should share it. thank you

Goodmorning (or as morning as 2 am is it isn't)
To begin with, I have to offer you my greatest praise towards your courage. I recently broke off a relationship similar to this. The boy was pushy and handsy and all for defiling me against my pleas, but I finally said no in a way we both understood. It was scary and it comes back to bite me in other relationships because when people get close to me I have to remind myself they're not him. It's terrifying.
This is really well organized and very well written. Your grammar, punctuation, and spelling are all great. This work is powerful and I'm proud of you for writing it and putting it out into the world, many, including sadly, myself, stay quiet. We are afraid of repurcussions, of backlash from other people, and of people solidifying our fears that we were weak. But the reality is, you are strong.
Thank you for writing this.
I'm not here to critique, I'm here to voice understanding (if that makes sense). Only a couple weeks ago a college student grabbed my ass (excuse the language). I turned and punched him in the jaw. The next day he and a couple friends decided to teach me a lesson. Two held me down and one tried to take off my clothes. If another student hadn't walked by then I would have...you know. This is something so many women, and some men, endure. We're all survivors in one way or another.
Your poem really shows how so many of us feel. We say no, but they continue. We try to push them away but they're stronger. Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for writing this poem.
you got three likes now
You had so much courage to tell him no in that moment. All that pressure you were put under by wanting it and playing along with it didn't matter because you were strong enough to say no AND share it!
I wish that you never had to experience that, and just because it's not as severe, it still matters and we all still recognize how brave you are. You deserve better than that jerk; it's wrong for him just to want sexual stuff out of you. In my opinion, relationships are about love and personality, not lust and body type. I hope this made you even stronger and one day you wont have to suffer this haunting anymore.
Your poetry is amazing by the way! I really admire your sense of imagery, and hope you keep writing!
This is my first review, so I'm sorry if it's bad and doesn't help.
Hey Rosella! Sorry this is so late. I'm going to promote your poem on my wall. It's really well written and I have nothing to say about it, style-wise (I also am not much of a poetry expert). It just breaks my heart to hear about this, and it really scares me. I've never dated or really gotten close to guys very much, so I personally don't know the full extent of what's out there. You are so brave to be open about what happened to you, because I know it is a problem many face everywhere. I sincerely hope it never happens to you again, and I'm glad that you are not in that kind of relationship anymore. You're absolutely beautiful and God loves you! I hope you know that I will always be open to listening, even though we don't know each other in real life. <3

Hello!!
In fact, you've inspired me to write, not to impress, but to express.
First and foremost, I am very sorry for what had happened, yet I admire your courage to express what you truly felt. Your work touches personal issues. It is of utmost relevance to our current generation. Experiencing these kinds of things are terrible. Words would never be enough to express such. I truly and most definitely admire your bravery to share it with us!
I love your choice of words and how you showed realistic images and situations. I believe you can get through this. I may not know you personally, yet I am just a message away
Continue writing and Have a great Christmas!!
I'm so sorry this happened to you, no, it didn't happen to me, but I support the fact that you're willing to speak out about this rising issue. This poem is definitely heart-breaking, I don't want to put pity on you, because that's not right. I want you to come to me if you ever need anything, advice, simple inspiring quotes, anything! If you have to vent, I'm all ears. If you need an internet shoulder to cry on, mine is just fine.
I honestly hope that one day you can find peace and be with ones you love, even someone who loves you just as much! I'm glad you shared this with the YWS family, there's no shame here! I hope you feel ok someday and I hope you have a Merry Christmas!:)
