I guess I’ve had the power,
I guess I’ve been a coward.
I wish I wasn’t sour,
I wish it hadn’t been thousands of hours.
All that..
All that just to find.
I just have to accept.
Accept it.
Accept the fact I’m in love
Accept the fact he won’t get out of my heart
What drove me crazy had one answer
What took my sanity had one solution
Delusion.
Acceptance of delusion.

Love the simplistic flow and explanation of being in delusion and in love. It's short but beautiful, perhaps devastating too. But this feeling of delusion too shall pass with the passage of time. In my opinion this acceptance is generally temporary but immensely intense. Sometimes the heart chooses a person before we could and yeah that sucks. Honestly I want a follow up of how and what this delusion leads to, if that makes any sense.
Other than that I sort of wish that rhythmic flow was continuous till the end of the poem which is more of a personal opinion than a critique.
Great work!
Hi!
This is an amazing poem. It flows so perfectly. Delusion is a hard thing to deal with especially if you had a past with the person. Delusion can fit everyone in different situations. I am in love with a man I was dating for nearly three years and we broke up because he was angry all the time and I couldn't take it. My delusion is the fact he's going to get better. He most likely is but it is going to happen far after I leave for college. Thank you for such a beautiful poem!
Lots of love,
Walker
sigh... i currently have a friend who is going through a terrible breakup. we met about mid march and she started telling stories about this guy and how she wishes she would come back into her life. one day, we choose to hang out (a little later in march) and she finally tells me this guys name...
her ex is a friend of mine from high school. long story a little short, i didn't tell her in the moment that i knew her ex, i waited until a few days ago. she wasn't upset, but that wasn't the only news i had to break to her. i had to tell her that this guy had moved on. when i did she just sobbed... didn't stop crying...
i've been wanting to write a poem to encompass and depict how she feels... but you did it for me. this is a great, blatant picture that you painted. some people use fancy, exaggerated words to describe feelings, but for moments and emotions like this, you can only describe it the way you can. unfortunately, these feelings she's experiencing, i've experienced, and you depicted are sometimes as blatant and blunt as a train smacking right into you.
thank you for this art.
