When I was little,
It was always
play, play, play
Every single day.
But now,
I’ve entered a new era in my life.
Now things are much different,
There is homework
Chores
And even social life.
But that’s okay.
Because now life has more flavor,
It has been sprinkled with a little bit of pepper
A little bit of salt.
And even though it might be intense sometimes.
Life is better with flavor.

Hello! (Happy birthday too!)
I'm a sucker for repetition so when you repeated "life has more flavor/life is better with flavor" I immediately dropped a like! This poem is short and succint; you made your feelings known and the reader can feel them nearly the same as you.
Keep up the great work!
LCP
Thanks!
Hi!

Firstly, I wanted to say how gorgeous this poem is. I mean this poem does a good job conveying your feelings and I don't know, but the most fun part about this poem is how simple this is. I always read long and complex poems and have loved them, but this new one has a special place in my heart.
And the second thing is the meaning and message of this is also so good. You have a metaphor for a new era of your life and how it is always better with some flavor.
Overall, great job
Have a great writing day!
Thanks for the great review!
Hey MapleWay!
My name is Elinor, and I thought I would drop by to give your poem a quick review. I enjoyed reading it and wanted to sincerely thank you for sharing it. What I liked most about it was its simplicity and clarity. This idea of lost innocence, in my opinion, is something that everyone can relate to. I also like that you put your own twist on it but not being sad but excited about what the future brings.
It's interesting that you mention spice later on, because I think I'd like to see a little more spice in the wording of the poem itself and how you portray the imagery. While I'm no expert on poetry by any means, to me what separates it from other forms of writing is that it's primarily about evoking a feeling. Poetry can obviously tell a story too, but my favorite poems have all really brought me into the time and place and feeling the writer is speaking about.
You start off strong, talking about your youth. What it did look like when you played all of the time?
When you say things are different, what does that look like? And why is it better to you now, even if "it's intense sometimes"?
Hope this helps! Keep writing, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Hope you're having a great Saturday!
Best,
Elinor
Thanks Elinor! I%u2019ll take a look at some of these later!
Ahh I love that you wrote a poem for your birthday!! It's like you're giving us a present, instead of the other way round! C:
And I can totally relate to being little and having no stress, just being able to play all the time, as you mentioned in your poem. When I turned thirteen, I was a little scared, because change is often hard and I wanted to stay a kid. But like you said in your poem, life does have a lot more flavor now!
I'm glad you're able to see the good side of growing up, and you were able to write about it beautifully too! :] Congrats on this amazing poem, and I wish you a very happy birthday!!!
Thanks Mint! I%u2019m glad you liked it!
Interesting!
To summarize: life is better tasty and varied, rather than bland and boring. I like it!
Thanks!
