Queen of the Stars

An Ode to Snoink:

Settle around this fire, children
and listen to this tale of old.
Once there lived a Queen, terrible
in her wisdom - such were her reviews
that all came to fear her scathing wit
and mocking laugh. Many were the noobs
she slayed, both directly and not so
(for instance, someone falling down
stairs as they backed away in terror).

For a time she enjoyed this, delighting
in the macabre dance of corpses falling
about her feet. But a day soon dawned
when that most awful of demons was born:
boredom. And she looked to the stars
for guidance and inspiration; the twinkling
sea of diamonds above burned so bright,
the Queen grew jealous and desired to posses
them all for herself, so that she and she alone
could shine.

O Queen of the Stars,
how greedily you sucked the light
of the universe into your sticky palms;
one by one you gathered the stars,
precious jewels into your grasp
until the sky was black and empty.

The vista above and below was so bleak,
the burning Queen soon became utterly mad,
drowning in the sorrowful hooting of confused owls.
She formed a union with a certain pink animal
and fled unto the Ends of the Earth
whereupon she fell off a gigantic cliff
(there to hang in suspension for all eternity, Thelma and Louise stylez, as a moral lesson for all you little bitches. Now get the hell away from my fire).

The End. <3

P.S I'd like to add that Snoink totally abandoned chat as I started writing this Ode! Ungrateful, much? XD

This is great!

I love the lines in brackets, some of the most classic lines in poetry on this site that I have ever seen. Come to think of it, they were some of the funniest lines I think I have ever seen in poetry :D

Well Done, this was epic!
Keep Writing (Do some more odes to other distinctive people on this site :P)

Hey,

Haha this was brilliant! I love the use of the fire at the start and the end; it was so funny and effectively opened and closed the poem.

My favourite parts were your references to the stars, and to pigs! I really enjoyed reading this-the style is great and it's very clever.

It looks like a pig fell onto the EU flag ... anyway.

The poem! I wish I could write like this.

Especially the last two lines:

(there to hang in suspension for all eternity, Thelma and Louise stylez, as a moral lesson for all you little bitches. Now get the hell away from my fire)

Yep.

Jiggs this is so awesome! xD There's really nothing I can add, and even if I tried it would only lessen it's awesomeness.

Many were the noobsshe slayed, both directly and not so(for instance, someone falling down stairs as they backed away in terror)
My favorite part xD.

IMP!!!!!!!!!

Dude, this poem is teh awesome if only because it raised Imp from the dead. Since, clearly, this poem was the only thing that could do it... one more reason why you should post in the poetry forums more often.

Also, it was two o'clock and I was going to sleep! Give me a break already. XD

Jigs. This is awesome. I bow down to Snoink (don't hurt me O Evil One) but this made me laugh. It was epic and I'm glad you got into the featured works. I can't really critique it because like the others said it doesn't really need it. It is epic *stars*.

The Imp would like to make the type and / or literary equivalent of a jig, along with impudent impetuous impenitent importunate laughter in response to the Jigster's indefatigable and unbearable humour, as well as, ah, verse. ^_^

Er, no critique as such, da?

Hi, Jiggs! *waves*

I agree with Van and Amy, epicness in its true nature. I especially liked

Many were the noobs
she slayed, both directly and not so
(for instance, someone falling down
stairs as they backed away in terror)

because that was genius.

I point at Snoink and laugh, now.

XD. Well, Snoink told me to post it -- it began as a three second jaunt when I referred to her as the Queen of Stars with the third stanza -- but then I decided to spend a further three minutes expanding it, haha. I hope she likes the extended edition :)

Haha, Jiggs, this is awesome. As Van said, epic! :D I'm not actually going to be constructive here, because this doesn't need it. The end made me laugh a lot, but I absolutely adored the whole thing!

Epic line:

(there to hang in suspension for all eternity, Thelma and Louise stylez, as a moral lesson for all you little bitches. Now get the hell away from my fire)

What a way to end.

I woke my dude up from the other room laughing so hard!

This is epic, Jiggy!

(for instance, someone falling down
stairs as they backed away in terror)

My absolute favorite line.

For a time she enjoyed this, delighting
in the macabre dance of corpses falling
about her feet.

Close second.

(there to hang in suspension for all eternity, Thelma and Louise stylez, as a moral lesson for all you little bitches. Now get the hell away from my fire)

Somewhere between second and first. No, this is ultimate.

I'm sorry I can't be more constructive. I'm of the opinion that you don't need to change a thing!
