The secret dream world of a Book-O-Holic

by DivergentDemigod

Imagine a world,

where the president would be elected,

not by counting votes,

but by counting, the number of books they read.

A place, where children would read sci-fics,

instead of academics.

Oh, what wouldn’t I give to live in a world like that!

~

Imagine a world, where ‘the hunger games’

was the most popular reality TV show,

minus the killing.

where ‘dauntless’ was an awesome gaming center,

with human size dolls for practicing knife throwing.

And all the cool kids from school would hang out there,

including me.

~

Imagine a world,

where ‘camp half blood’,

was not only for demi-gods,

but for all those who seek adventure!

Really wouldn’t it be fun,

to go on a quest,

and slay monsters?

~

Do you know that place between France and Spain?

Yeah right there, it’s called ‘Idris’,

but according to shadow hunter regime,

it’s a secret place, not known to mundane.

Imagine, if it was marked on our maps.

And using portals instead of cars,

Don’t you think it would be a smart way of avoiding traffic jams?

~

Wouldn’t it be great

if I get a scholarship to Hogwarts?

And if luck was in my favor, get Harry Potter’s

hand-me-down books of magic,

and flying broom.

Don’t you think,

that would be super cool?

~

What if the Delphic Amusement Park,

was seriously made by Fallen Angels?

With an archangel keeping an eye on it?

With this knowledge, would you still go there?

Well, at least I would.

To enjoy rides, no.

To meet fallen angels, yes!

~

Trust me,

if it was possible,

I would have turned the universe,

into my secret dream world

a long time ago…

but since I’m not the in charge here,

there is nothing I can do.

Actually not going to vomit my harsh comments and critique on here, because I genuinely like this piece. I mean, though I'm not a fan of all these books, I can definitely see living in a magical world intertwined with aspects of each and every iconic bestsellers would be pretty cool. I'm not a big a fan of poetry, but this is alright, y'know.

Good job, I guess? You should definitely consider writing more poetry and perhaps, if you're comfortable in this area, writing novels or short stories.

(Definitely not one of my longer reviews, so I hope you're OK with it.)

Thanx for review!

Hi fangirldivergent46, acm here for a quick review. I would love a world like this! I'm a huge bookworm, and love all of the books you mentioned. This might be a strange suggestion, but I think this poem would work better as a short story. Each of your stanzas is a paragraph, and you start a new one every time you change books. You don't have to do it, but I felt like it reads as more of a short story than a poem.
Great job,
acm

I'm not usually one for poetry. [Truth be told I hate most poetry] Though I must say that I love this! I would certainly want to live in that world as well.

Ha! Thanx ;)
