I remember
Sitting next to you in class
Smiling, laughing with you
I went to you
To be partners each time
To play together at recess
We worked together
Building fairy houses
From flowers and twigs
You cried with me
I didn’t want to leave
You or that school behind
We wrote letters
Intricately decorated cards
Filled with of all my love for you
We begged our parents
To have email accounts
Excited to communicate like grownups
We had playdates
But they became fewer and far between
Just like that, it began to fade
On my birthday
You couldn’t come sleepover
Because of bad weather, that snow
The last time I saw you
Was two years ago, too long
We were at the Fall Festival
I still love you
But I know it’s not the same
It will never be the same
It’s been a slow, gradual goodbye
But without saying goodbye once

You wrote it whole heartedly. It gives me the feel how my life will be when me and my best friend will be parted. Because we are like the best buddies in the whole school and we can't hide anything from each other. The last stanzas are my favorite.
" I still love you
But I know its's not the same
It will never be the same"
I know it can't be the same if you are not together everyday and talking to each other everyday. It then became just a casual friendship. Hope me and my friend will never be parted.
And your poem is great. Its not formal that's why it conveys the exact feeling you feel. Looking forward to another relatable poem or story by you.
Thank you for your review ^-^ I'm glad you enjoyed
Beautiful poem, very relatable, that's actually happening to me right now, I have a friend and I feel like we're just growing farther and farther apart. This is about this great poem though, I don't have any critiques right now but this is a great poem. I really like how you put in what you remember doing with her, and what you remember about her. It really adds a nice touch. Good job
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. Best of luck with your friend <3
*sniff* Okay. This is far too relatable for me. I absolutely HATE it when this happens because it's obviously super sad and even a bit annoying lol. The real issue is when you see them again. It's like "Who the heck are you and what have you done with the person I knew two years ago?"
. Anywho, I don't have much to say besides that I loved your poem xP. Great job! Keep writing!

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it and yeah, I've had that exact thing happen. It's also so strange when you do talk to them after years and it feels so weird and awkward when you realize you don't really know them anymore ;-;
Good job with the poem, it was so relatable. I know exactly what it's like to make a friend in elementary school and hang out with them all the time until you graduate or change schools. You think nothing can break or get rid of your friendship, and that it will never change. But then slowly you see each other less and less, and you know your friendships fading, but you never say goodbye. Ok, enough with the sadness.
First off, you did a really good gopb capturing that feeling, you had great emotion, and you last two stanzas ended it perfectly.
"I still love you
But I know it’s not the same
It will never be the same
It’s been a slow, gradual goodbye
But without saying goodbye once."
You did a great job with this poem, can't wait to read what you write next!
Carpe diem,

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it <3
No problem
Hey! It's Willow for a review here
This poem is honestly sooo relatable and really catches the feels. The last lines hit hard, "It's been a slow, gradual goodbye, But without saying goodbye once". I think that really resembles (At least to me) the sadness of leaving a friend behind and not being able to get any sense of closure. Although there was no straight up "Goodbye" you both know it's over and nothing will ever be the same between the two of you. I don't wanna ramble on to something that's not related, but I had a friend in elementary school from 1st grade all the way to 7th grade who I related so much to and wanted to be around all the time. We slowly and gradually became almost strangers, and when we met up for the last time I realized nothing would be the same and we were both changing. She had branched out into almost an entirely new person. Over all, this poem really spoke to me. Please, please continue this mega-ness (lol) and I'm looking forward to more!
Thank you so much! Most of this poem was based on a friend I had throughout elementary school, but when I changed schools we tried to keep in touch, but slowly drifted apart. It's especially hard because there never was a real goodbye, but I've just been slightly conscious of the fact that it was just fading away. ): I'm really glad you liked it <3 and thank you for the review!
