The Mountaintop

In Poetry

You’ve always stood on the mountaintop
The mountaintop across my own
We could wave and we could shout
But whispers cannot carry

You’ve always walked away from me
When the sun began to set
We had our separate lives to live
Our separate roads to follow

You’ve never turned your back around
Or chose to leave your path
You’ve stayed on your mountaintop
Across my own, until today

You realized something new today
Something that might be love
You crossed the valley betwixt us
But left your path behind

You’ve left and climbed my mountaintop
To you sit here by my side
You’ve held me close and whispered to me
And found a new road before us

Hey There!!!
Here for a brief review ...
The Mountaintop is a beautiful setting to the charming romantic poem ...
Your appealing poem signifies the sacrifices couples have to do for them to stay close together and never leave each others back, The sole sacrifice of loosing something as breathtaking as your own mountaintop just so to be able to be a part of your lovers life .... To worth fighting together in their bumpy path of life...To pave a a new road amidst the beautiful valleys of life.......

From here you talked about how she is keeping distamt from you "You’ve always walked away from me
When the sun began to set
We had our separate lives to live
Our separate roads to follow

You’ve never turned your back around
Or chose to leave your path
You’ve stayed on your mountaintop
Across my own, until today"

Then switched here you tried

"You’ve left and climbed my mountaintop
To you sit here by my side
You’ve held me close and whispered to me
And found a new road before us"

Good morning, afternoon, evening, night, or whatever applies to you in your respective time zone. Anyway, onto the review. This poem was pretty good! I liked the theme of love, loss, and hope. I'm not a hopeless romantic, but I do enjoy a good romantic story or poem once and a while, like this one. Your poem was really nice, addressing real problems couples face, including one of the partners having to give up something to stay with the other. I enjoyed the happy ending of this poem, and how even though one of them gave up their home to be with the other, their future together is still bright and happy. I do apologies, I was thinking this review was going to be longer, but there wasn't much to critique, so I'll say goodbye now. Stay safe and keep writing!

Hi, hello, good morning, good evening, good afternoon and goodnight as well as all the other pleasant things you expect in a greeting. Anyway, Wolf here.
Put quite simply this poem was adorable and so unexplainably sweet. It brings to mind the whole "friends to lovers" story trope but in a different way than is common. I have to say, the last stanza is by far my favorite. Its just... well it gives me emotions. Its so hopeful and sweet I could probably obsess over this for awhile. anyway great poem keep it up.

as always,
Wolf

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
