A letter to the devil

by Apehdavid2

letter to the Devil;

Here we consider you evil
Your name says a lot 'The evil'
We were told you were cast from the heavens
We were made to inherit hate for you since birth
Only if we could hear your part of the story
We were told you work tirelessly towards humans destruction
We were told you are the reasons for our bad life choices
We were told you are the reasons humans exhibit their evil nature
We were told humans were naturally good
We were told you are the reason behind wars
We were told you are the reason we lie
Only if we could hear your part of the story
We were told your gifts don't last long
We were told you are after our souls
Only if we could hear your side of the story
The story is one sided
You are being blamed for removing man's greatest flaw IGNORANCE
You are being blamed for making us God's
You are being blamed for showing us the fruit of knowledge
You are being blamed for permitting us to live lives to the fullest
You are being blamed for death when we all know who is in charge of death
Only if we could hear your side of the story
You are always the one we blame for our wrongs when we are naturally bad
We're just hoping to have a conversation with you

P.s
A human

Wow, this poem was good. I love how this touches on how bad humanity can truly be and the spiritual side of it. Sometimes, it's very easy for us to lose faith.

This was a fun poem to read.Yes,we do blame the devil for most of our problems, but what is the devil’s story? What does he have to say? We ask ourselves this frequently. This poem was lovely.Yeah, what does the devil have to say? How does he feel? I guess we will never truly know, will we? Anyway,I hope you have a lovely day/night.

Wow, the repetition of this poem really makes it tense. After the constant repetition, going back to the 'Only if we could here your side of the story' gives it emotion and the hope that the Devil might be someone/something that's actually different to than what others 'told' and said. As humans, we are curious about who is the God or higher existence but we never really consider what its like to be the/a Devil. There are of course rumors about many horrible things revolved around the Devil which gives it an unpleasing and evil name but if only we could hear about what the Devil had to say, maybe it/he has a reason to why it/he did it.
