If distance was only a word,
You and I would be together.
A text is not the same,
As a physical touch.
I crave to hear you speak,
But all I get is words on a screen.
I imagine what it'd be like,
To have you here next to me.
But all I get is a faint memory.
I must be held in your arms,
And feel their loving tenderness.
But sadly,
Distance is more than a word.

AHHHH! Really cute poem....although it was a bit too fluffy, but I like it. It's really good. Short, and simple, with no fancy words.........somehow this all goes together in this poem really well. Thumbs up to ya! The punctuation is satisfactory (for a change). I guess the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is true.
So anyway, good job! Write more.
Keep it up!

This is a wonderful poem, made even sadder by the accuracy this has on the majority of this technological world we live in. We become so obsessed with our devices and what we might say to each other, there is an absence of that love and affection we want in our daily lives.
The line "Distance is more than a word." hits home the entire meaning of this piece, and it is a very powerful line indeed. Great job on reiterating the point that you've made through the beautiful imagery and the longing the narrator displays. There is an emphasis on the space between bodies, between hearts, and it makes this poem even sadder. Wonderful job! You can really feel the emotion behind the words come through when you read it.
Absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder. Often it makes the heart grow lonely.
This is such an accurate and lovely poem. I'm sure most people find this even more saddening. I most certainly enjoy being physically there with someone I love (and there aren't many) but the good thing about those lovely words on the screen is that they're able to somewhat establish a connection when the former isn't possible, wouldn't you agree.
All in all, this poem was very sweet, and I enjoyed it a lot. Keep it up!
