Circus Doll

by AkiraEliza

I’ve grown a long ways away

I’ve turned to ash a lot of memories

I’ve watched a lot of clowns come and go

I’ve felt tears rain down my face like black snow

But I know I’ll be alright, yeah, I know I’ll be alright . . .

Because I have someone I love here with me tonight

~

This Circus Freak has finally found her home,

And she’s welcome backed her Circus Rose

She’s played the Circus Marionette show,

And felt Circus Petals fall with rainbows,

She’s written down her Circus Story

Told the tale of the Circus Jester in all her glory

She dug back up her Circus Dream

And hung her picture on the Circus Wall of memories,

She sits by the fire with her Circus Animal,

And she's refilled her Circus Grave, no need to fall

But don’t get me wrong, she ain’t a Circus Doll

~

Ain’t it breath taking to watch the days go by?

More so with a gental song watching butterflies

Watching puffy white clouds up in the sky

Something so gentle, so warm here tonight

I can’t believe there was a time I’d not go down without a fight

It doesn’t matter, the chapter is done in my book, and I’m feeling alright

~

And she's refilled her Circus Grave, no need to fall

But don’t get me wrong, she ain’t a Circus Doll

~

There ain’t no need for any last words here

No need to fill in an end to the song

I should have quit chasing someone insignifagant

I should have known there were better people all along

I ain’t retiring from the wild days I had

But a little ‘lax time doesn’t sound so bad.

Hello Hello, I hope you dont mind me popping in with a quick review. This might not be super in depth however I do hope that it will at least brighten your day, I will also quickly mention that I haven't read the others so sorry If get something wrong. Let's get into it, shall we?

Overall I cant say I have much feedback nothing stuck out to me that tripped up the reading experience. Or nothing too noticeable at the very least although upon a second reading, I might be able to pinpoint some stuff.

I felt like this was a good ending even without reading the others I get the feeling that at least for now it's all wrapped up and somewhat happy. I also like the slow pace and the soft energy it gives off it's nice and cozy in the best way. You Did a good job portraying the feeling that reflection can hold.

I also enjoyed the theme of growth and change. However, I do think the use of grave is a interesting one as I am sure it is a reference to an earlier poem but it gives a good sense of contrast.

It could represent past events and moving on filling the grave with who she used to be or it could be a real grave. Either way, it adds this sense of unspoken unease where everything might not be as cheery as we think. It makes the reader think about it and if it is meant to be this little pearl of darkness hidden in the warm tone.

Although a short review on my end I really liked this one great job .

As always keep writing and remember to drink water!

Hello there, Akira! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

Shalt we commence with the mutated S’more?

Top Graham Cracker - After everything, the protagonist has finally found a place where she belongs. She’s not tied down to the past, and she knows exactly what she needs to do in her life.

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I think that you meant to say “gentle” with one part of the song, but that’s just one little thing.

Chocolate Bar - I love how the protagonist seems to rise from all that had befallen her, but doesn’t forget to shine. She knows how much she’s worth, and she’s content with her life. It was a long, but worthy, journey for her.

Closing Graham Cracker - I love your circus songs! I’ll be certain to check out the next one tomorrow, and even if you don’t update, your works will definitely stay in my memory. Thank you for posting this. :>

I wish you a fantastic day/night! ^v^

No matter what happens I'll always know there's a quote of mine in the YWS quote generator.
