Back then, where the pavements cracked, hope came with stems and floating seeds. We called them fairies and whispered our secrets into their flight~ quiet magic blooming from a weed by the road, believing—without question— that wishes always found their way home...
But that was then, and the wind no longer waits for my wishes...
Perhaps they are still there, scattered across forgotten roads, where we no longer pause to notice.
Innocence, fleeting — faith, misplaced a quiet erosion of purity over time. The seeds drifted away, like the emotions we once held tightly— our dreams and untouched hope. We never doubted those seeds would land somewhere and bloom again.
Oh this is a strong start to NaPo - I love that the second poem contrasts and adds a layer of meaning to the first!
quiet magic blooming from a weed by the road,
The first poem has such a whimsical mood, and I really love this image. It really encapsulates the idea of innocence and hope.
I really like the last lines of the second poem, too. Seeds are so small, you can easily miss them if you're not looking - but equally so wonder if they're there at all. Such a good metaphor!
Maybe the innocence is still there but just buried under the weight of knowing too much, under the hesitation to believe in things without proof.
What if some part of us still wants to find those dandelions? What if, somewhere in the spaces of our grown-up selves, there’s a pause— an unfinished sentence— waiting for us to remember, how to wish again?
Spoiler
The above three pieces are written as one unfolding thought—shared in three parts.
This is a great start to NaPo! The theme of loss of childhood innocence is very powerful and relatable.
The seeds drifted away, like the emotions we once held tightly— our dreams and untouched hope. We never doubted those seeds would land somewhere and bloom again.
I especially liked this stanza.
"You do ill if you praise, but worse if you censure, what you do not understand." Leonardo Da Vinci
In the rush of everyday life, memory plays its quiet tricks.
Just when we’re most present, life reaches back and hands us a memory.
You sit in the same corner of that restaurant - the crowd has changed, but their absence fills the air
A film flickers across the screen, but your eyes search for the one who once watched it with you.
You walk the same road. It’s changed - but somehow, the feeling hasn't.
Fully caught in the now, we stumble into the past- led by a scent, a sound, a place.
So sudden, so delicate, and then - gone. Bursting like a bubble moment - you are brought back to reality There’s no control, just the pause... the breath, and the weight of continuing...
Soothing and aching at the same time.

Sometimes, life is quieter than people expect. Not all paths to happiness are loud and golden. Some of us choose different roads - quieter ones, softer ones. Not because we can't dance in the light, but because we found something we love even more in the spaces where the music fades.
We carry our own small, heavy joy instead of chasing the flashing lights - because real life is not a public scoreboard. The outsider’s glance only grazes the surface unaware of the inner world - layered, quiet, intentional. Not every soul aligns with ours - and that’s okay. We will find Some who listen between the silences.
We choose selfless love Not out of duty. Not out of sacrifice. but as something deeper than most will understand.
Sacrifice isn’t always about loss - sometimes its about choosing what’s priceless Whether you’re part of their celebrations or not, ...life keeps spinning - for both you and me

Hukumar I have to admit I wasn't really in tune with your thread this napo and I was clearly missing out! This last poem you posted really hits some deep emotions. I can feel these words in my bones. Amazing work!

Everytime I try to write you out of me the ink always fades, the page curls and the ending slips away from my hands. Maybe silence was your final word, and I just never learned how to hear it.
Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts. — Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind
