I woke up at 1pm in the afternoon and now my whole body feels broken.

DreamyAlice I woke up at 6am then slept at 1pm for 2 hours, afternoon naps are THE BEST!

Hkumar Okay, so I have some decent experience with guitar (not a pro though) and I have been thinking of getting a ukelele. But I wanted to know is ukelele more difficult? I mean it surely looks more compact, so does that make it difficult to grab the chords, like more painful for the fingers? I can play all sorts of chords on guitar including the barre chords, it's just I lack motivation so I kinda lose on the rhythm.

LuxLuthor Ukulele is SO much more easier than guitar! It does take getting used to the smaller frets, but the nylon strings and the fact that there's only four makes it so much easier on the hands and fingers. It's pretty easy to pick up too, I learned in about 2 weeks all the basic chords and stuff (I've been playing guitar for a year) I highly recommend getting a uke, though! They're super fun and easy to carry around as a little travel and jingle instrument, and if you get really good it's super awesome

soundofmind If you have the finger strength for bar chords on guitar, ukulele will be a breeze. You’ll have to adjust to a smaller fretboard and more compact chord shapes but ukulele strings are much, much softer than guitar strings because they’re not made of metal. This makes it a lot easier for beginners to pick it up because it’s less painful to start. I’ve found it’s easier to grab difficult chord shapes on ukulele because you don’t have to stretch your fingers as much or press down as hard.

Ukuleles can be fun because they’re super small and portable. After typing this I realzie I’m really only echoung Lex, lol, but here’s the sound version I guess.

As far as motivation goes, I tend to be more motivated to practice if I have a goal for a certain song I want to learn to play. And for keeping rhytm, it can be really helpful to practice with a metronome! There’s plenty of metronome apps out there where you can choose a time signature and a bpm and it’s super simple. That, or maybe practice over a beat/drum track on loop!

And Sound... I totally agree that sometimes the motivation comes from a particular song....like when you hear it and you start finding out it's notes bcos hell you wanna play it on your own >.>
