The Neapolitan Games: FINAL CHALLENGE: April 26-April 30

Strawberry Challenge

- Time to add a little extra kick to your poetry, and try out new skills! Use The Poetic Element(s): Rhyme, Rhythm, and Repetition... by writing a Villanelle (between April 26-30) and post the link in this thread to claim the badge.

Villanelle - We had to go big for the last days of NaPo right? A villanelle, uses many different poetic techniques, but namely rhyme, rhythm, and repetition (to make the challenge a bit easier you are not required to use iambic pentameter, but every line should have 10 syllables, 19 lines in length and use this pattern - a1-b-a2/a-b-a1/a-b-a2/a-b-a1/a-b-a2/a-b-a1-a2... Here, a1 and a2 are always the same line and every line with an a must follow the a rhyme scheme, while every line with a b must follow the b rhyme scheme. For a fuller description and examples Check out my Orchard Article.

Vanilla Challenge

- Was your poem a "NaPo Classic"? If your poem used The Poetry Theme of... Ice Cream between April 25-30 you can claim this badge. Just link to the poem, and quote the line that you think follows that theme/topic to claim the badge. We've got to keep it sweet for the last week of this wonderful month!

Chocolate Challenge

- Time to go out and read some sweet sweet poetry! Find the NaPo poem among the other threads from this week that uses This set of NaPo Lines:
"The azure past is trickling through the trees
as fuzziness of memory drifts by
in little puffs of cloud and crystal wisps,
in warm reflections from the sunny sky."
posted between April 12-26 and PM the answer to @alliyah to claim this badge. Try not to use the "search forums" option to locate it.

If you win a challenge, in addition to earning a cool badge, you also can get 25 points! Any questions? Ask below!

Also please pull up a new spot for week two claiming just so I can keep track of everything more easily. Thank you so much for participating!

@alliyah I think these are the same prompts as before

@OrabellaAvenue - just caught me mid-editing! Should be ready to go now!

Strawberry:
under the rain shadow
Here's a villanelle! With a slight adjustment on the repeated lines, not sure if that still counts but thought it would be neat.

(side note, it would have been terrific to have the villanelle be the vanilla challenge... vanillanelle? XD)

Strawberry:
forest Escapism <-- echoing Que in that my repeated lines have a couple word adjustments here and there

Week Three

Strawberry Challenge and Vanilla Challenge - Summer Dreams (I wrote an ice cream-themed villanelle so I hope it counts for both?)

Vanilla Challenge:
An Ode or Elegy to April
For the lines:

My ice cream has melted,
have I had enough or
should I lick the mess off my fingers
to hold on to an already fading taste.
