Haven't met you today

Haven't met you today

Today has not been the same as every day.

Today has not been normal as every day.

It seems like the sun didn't shine,

The wind didn't blow,

The birds didn't chirp, today.

It seems like the light was dull,

The music was silent,

The life was lifeless, today.

The reason being you,

I haven't seen you today,

I haven't heard you today,

The thing is that,

I haven't met you today

I open the books but don't feel like reading,

I go to the parks but don't feel like strolling,

I open the chats but don't feel like texting,

The reason being you,

I haven't seen you today,

I haven't heard you today,

The thing is that,

I haven't met you today

We haven’t met in days,

You didn’t even try texting me.

And it feels like a poison,

That is killing me.

I feel like running but don’t feel like stopping,

I feel like living but don’t feel like being alive.

The reason being you,

Oh yes! It’s you,

I haven't seen you today,

I haven't heard you today,

The thing is that,

Well, I haven't met you today

Your poem has very strong imagery. Your word choices and descriptions illustrate an incredibly vivid picture of the setting; emptiness. It puts an image with an emotion, and that can be very hard to do. However, you described the vacancy in the narrator's life when he was without someone he cared deeply for very well... This was an emotional read and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks ! Glad u liked it !

I loved it like you almost left me in tears. I could really feel the lost love and just feel the heart break and I was sucked in. I loved the repetition that just made it more dramatic. It just felt amazing and I felt like I was main character. I espiecially loved the lines:
"It seems like the sun didn't shine,

The wind didn't blow,

The birds didn't chirp, today.

It seems like the light was dull,

The music was silent,

The life was lifeless, today."
The imagery just got to me and I could see it all happening in my head. I could just imagine the weather and the feelings of the main character and it was just awesome. Keep up the amazing work.

Thanks ! It really means a lot. All of the things that I described in both of my poems, has never happened to me personally but I am glad to see that they still make a lot of sense! Thanks again!

This is a very touching poem. Your words express intensely about how much the speaker miss his beloved.

The speaker's longing and his numbness has been coherently spoken by these words:

"It seems like the sun didn't shine,

The wind didn't blow,

The birds didn't chirp, today.

It seems like the light was dull,

The music was silent,

The life was lifeless, today. "

The deadened state, is well pictured through your words.

Wow, and these lines below were realistic, the speaker's not showing any interest to anything, since he didn't meet his love.

"I open the books but don't feel like reading,

I go to the parks but don't feel like strolling,

I open the chats but don't feel like texting,

The reason being you"

The speaker's extreme suffering and and agitation was well shown in these lines:

"I haven't met you today

We haven’t met in days,

You didn’t even try texting me.

And it feels like a poison,

That is killing me."

The torment effect on the speaker was beautifully shown by the following lines, I personally loved those:

"I feel like running but don’t feel like stopping,

I feel like living but don’t feel like being alive.

The reason being you,

Oh yes! It’s you"

The emphasis you give about the longing is incredible. The way you have handled the theme gave an emotional touch to your poem.

It's simply awesome. Great work!!

Keep up the awesome writing.

Thank You so much for such an amazing review. It really means a lot getting good reviews in my starting days. Thanks again!
