Mum's the Word

Sarah’s the name
but don’t call me that.
Call me Purple.
Let me shield my identity
from this sparkling moment to the next,
masked by a nondescript color.
Let me hide among thousands of pixels
or under piles of empty Dorito bags and Snapple bottles.

Plug your ears with cotton,
close your eyes behind lashes heavy with mascara.
Listen to your heart
that its beating will pull you inside of yourself
and mute your curiosity.

Live there now, away from this small cosmic corner
and let me live along, standing

behind a one-way mirror, staring
at my hazel eyes, wondering
how the surface got smudged with toothpaste.

This is my place, so keep out
or face the wrath of my stuffed-animal army.
Don’t ask
because I won’t tell

’cuz Sarah’s the name
but mum’s the word.

I enjoyed reading this because it was absolutely adorable! On the writing aspect, I say you have a knack for those words! Not only your diction but the flawless transitioning you have. I surely am impressed by this. xoxo

I wish I could give you a real review, but I can't critique something that's perfect! I loved it and it made me laugh :) Good job!
